"Staff was very friendly! Rooms were standard, and had basic amenities plus a microwave, mini fridge and safe. Spacious bathroom. The room had two access doors - one from an outside balcony and one interior door, which is nice is winter or bad weather. The room I stayed in had a door to a shared room and you could hear the people in the other room through it, so that wasn’t ideal. "We stayed two nights as part of a fall color trip. As always the hotel was clean. Our stay was good. The location of this hotel is perfect, great jumping off point for all your UP day trips. Not that this is a big deal, but the receptionist who checked us in was wearing sweatpants, a little unprofessional if you ask me. However that did not have any bearing on how good our stay was. "

I am of the mindset why not stay in a room that has knotty pine walls and mid Century modern furniture than the usual cookie cutter hotel. Parking is directly in front of your room door.
