Your ideal Colorado getaway is here! Situated on 2.5 wooded acres, this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home meets your every vacation need. Serene mountain setting, close to town, any adventure you want nearby.

The Home
Guests will enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Princeton (14,196’), Mount Antero (14,275’), and Mount Shavano (14,232’) from the western facing front room.
The master suite includes a roomy Aspen log king bed and a bathroom with a lofted ceiling and views of Mt. Ouray in the distance.
A second over-sized bedroom upstairs adjoins the master and provides two twin beds and plenty of additional space.
The main level bedroom includes an Amish crafted log queen bed with an adjacent full bathroom.
For those mixing work with pleasure, the downstairs office is complete with a classic wood desk, futon and Starlink powered WIFI.
The centerpiece of the dining area is the large live-edge dining room table, ideal for hosting family and friends. Seats 8.
Italian leather sofas fill out the living room along with wood burning stove and 55” smart TV pre-wired with WIFI for streaming.
Make use of the fully equipped kitchen; cookware includes a full set of pots and pans, crockpot, roasting pan, and a stocked pantry.
This home is kid friendly with a pack ‘n play, high chair, kid’s dinnerware/cups/utensils, as well as plenty of books, games, and a loft area for playtime.
A one-car garage is accessible for your convenience.

The Property
The property is situated on a mesa to the west and a private wooded area to the north with 360 degree vistas.
Spring, summer, and fall are perfect for outdoor eating and entertaining. Make use of the gas grill and relax by the fire pit.
Keep an eye out for wildlife including deer, fox, wild turkeys, and many species of birds.
The Mesa Antero neighborhood offers private access points to National Forest hiking and biking. A detailed map is available for reference.
Roads are paved, maintained, and accessible year round.

The Surrounding Area
Looking for adventure on your trip? This location is near almost every activity you can dream up.
We are just minutes from world class whitewater rafting in Brown’s Canyon (the put-in is only 8 miles away) and gold medal fishing on the Arkansas River.
National Forest access is 1 mile down the road for easy access to hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. Mountain biking trails abound.
Monarch Mountain is 30 minutes away for an authentic Colorado ski experience.
Take the scenic back-road drive to close-by Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort and Spa.
For a true mountain town experience, the home is only 15 minutes each to Salida, Buena Vista, and Poncha Springs. Each town is bursting with unique shopping, culinary variety, and charm.

Fantastic House with Great Views
This is a great house for a family vacation. Everything we needed was available in the house and the house was very clean. The views are great! We will definitely consider this house again for a future stay.

Amazing mountain cabin
Really excellent stay at an amazing cabin. Somewhat secluded but also easily accessible to Buena Vista. Great views from the house. House was very well furnished and supplied. Our younger kids especially enjoyed the kinda hidden bedroom/playroom that ties in to the master bedroom. Hosts were great with communication and support. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway/Perfect for Families
We loved our stay at "Someplace Else"! It's the perfect distance from Buena Vista and Salida for half day trips with kiddos. We brought our toddler and 4 month old baby and the house was stocked with toys, pack n play, kids plates/utensils, etc. We enjoyed the nice weather by using the grill, patio, and bonfire pit for s'mores. Would highly recommend!

Perfect Getaway
This was the perfect vacation for a long weekend. The house was located in the most beautiful area with view of the mountains all around. It was a great mix between remote yet close to Salida & Buena Vista. The house is very nice and was perfect for our family of 5. I would highly recommend it. This is a great area with lots of fun things to do.

Last Minute Booking
We had to make a last minute change to our travel plans and luckily found this home was available. Home is beautiful. Location easy to access, quiet, and lovely. Beds were comfy. This is the best stocked rental I've stayed in and I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint, which is not unique to this rental, is a lack of grab bars in tub shower for the safety of elderly travelers...please consider adding. Trips to BV, St. Elmo, Independence Pass, and Salida were great fun!

Another Great Stay!
This is our family’s second time to stay at this house and it was excellent experience! Ryan is so great to work with and ensures each stay is a success. Some of our favorite things include the quiet location, the wood stove, the hill behind the house for the boys to play, the sunlight that comes in the huge windows, and the cool “kid” room! The space is great for a family with active kids and it’s always spotlessly clean upon arrival. It’s such a cozy spot to hang out after a day on the slopes—we did make it into town, but evenings spent with the fire going and a good movie on awesome. We are looking forward to coming back for a summertime visit!

Wonderful Home in Colorado
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The house had the perfect amount of room for a family of five. My daughters had the downstairs bedrooms and my husband and I took the upstairs. We weren't able to get the wood-burning stove working but then again we were not familiar with that kind of stove. All in all, we had a great time.

Someplace Else is something else!
What a perfect getaway! Someplace Else was immaculate and in such a great location! We came to ski Monarch and had a wonderful time, an easy drive up to the mountain each day. Ryan was fantastic, checking in us on our way in and as we checked out. Everything is so clear and easy from booking to getting here to checking out. The house had everything you could need to be comfortable and cozy. We kept the meals in the easier side but the kitchen was definitely stocked to accommodate. The kids loved having their own space and the king bed upstairs was really comfortable. (We didn’t have a need for the downstairs bed) My only regret is I didn’t plan a longer trip. We will definitely be back!

The Perfect Mountain Escape
For our annual ski trip to Monarch Mountain, we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of town and we booked this spot--and escape is what we did! When we first arrived, I told my husband I just wanted to cancel the ski plans and spend the whole time in the cozy cabin. It was very clean, very open and bright, well-furnished, and had just the right space to feel cozy but still have plenty of beds and room to spread out. The use of the garage was very nice. Inside, from the extra coffee (I had forgotten mine!) to the bath towels, sleds for the kids, many TV's, kitchen supplies, cozy couches, very comfy beds, good wifi---it was everything we needed. The kids' faves include sledding down the backyard hill, the board games, and helping with the woodburning stove. My husband and I loved the warm sunshine that fills the house on a chilly winter day, sitting on the front deck, and watching the sun peek below the mountains each evening! This is a great place to stay! Communication with Ryan before, during, and after our stay was top-notch and we definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay
Ryan’s property is top notch and is very secluded from the town. We had multiple different experiences with wildlife and the view is breathtaking. I would highly recommend this house to anybody!

Family Vacation to Mountains
Property is a bit older, but is well kept and clean. Neighboring homes were much closer than expected, with homes on both sides and across street in a rural neighborhood development near mountains. Property is off the beaten path, but not as “secluded” as property may advertise. No A/C at property, so did get a bit warm a couple of days during our summer stay. Home is well stocked and in quiet neighborhood. Overall, home was great for our family vacation and fit our needs.

Lovely cabin
We had a wonderful time at this cabin! We loved the “neighborhood”, it was so quite and peaceful. My dad sat on the porch every morning and watched for wildlife (we saw elk one morning, mule deer, and some turkeys). The house was very cozy and we had everything we needed! Thanks for such a wonderful stay at your cabin!!

House with a view
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was quiet and had wonderful views. It was like home away from home , very comfortable and had everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked , there was a grill outside and a really nice area to cookout and hangout outside. If we travel to Buena Vista again we would stay here again. The owner was very nice and always quick to respond to questions.
