Clifton House - Audobon Suite | Natchez, MS
Suite in Historic Home | Mississippi River Views | King Bed | Shared Living Room
With its unsurpassed view of the Mississippi River, Clifton House underwent a total renovation in early 2017 to add modern touches and make every bedroom en suite. The décor authentically reflects the love the family has had for this home. When the first generation moved in, they brought period antiques, which were lovingly restored during the renovation. Each subsequent generation has added their own modern-day touches, making this guest house the truly gracious place it is today.
The view from Clifton House must be seen to be believed. It is the only operating guest house located on the Mississippi Bluff Walk, just steps away from a casino, and from the downtown area with its restaurants and retail.
One of the most spacious rooms in Clifton House, the Audubon Suite features enormous banks of windows on three sides, affording a magical downriver view of the "Golden Gate of the Mississippi", the bridge connecting Natchez with Vidalia, and a stunning tree-top perspective overlooking the Clifton Heights Historic District. Audubon Suite welcomes you with a Tempur-Pedic™ king-size bed draped in luxury Peacock Alley linens. The suite has its own private Carrara marble bath – the largest in the house -- with walk-in couples' shower. Other amenities include cable TV and a mini-fridge.
Audubon was once the home's sleeping porch – and the children growing up in this house loved to sleep there. The original green blinds from 1904 have been restored and hung in this room by the same company that recreates blinds for other historic properties such as Colonial Williamsburg.
Clifton House's location also allows convenient access to all that Natchez has to offer, and is just steps to downtown shopping, restaurants, museums, parks, and Antebellum mansion tours along Natchez's world-famous "Bluff Path."
Please note: There is no kitchen onsite. Guests have a private bed and bath, but must share the downstairs living room, dining room, and coffee maker. Guests MUST climb stairs to access the home & their suite.
