At Sunset Central YOU ARE SO CLOSE YOU CAN FEEL THE OCEAN! As soon as you walk into SUNSET CENTRAL you take a deep breath and start to smile. You are seeing the incredible ocean view and hearing the waves. SUNSET CENTRAL IS as nice as you hoped for. Why?

The old Cliché, "VIEW, VIEW, VIEW". We have of one of the BEST OCEAN VIEWS in Maui. You don't think about it but "NOT" having a pool or upper floor lanai safety rails, or anything in your ocean view, makes it as good as it gets. The view from inside the condo is great and the view from our lanai is even better. We have the perfect combination for a ROMANTIC stay. A quiet and quaint location, off the main road, stunning views, and soothing Pacific Ocean surround sound. There is NO EQUAL to being GROUND FLOOR directly on the ocean. No walking around your building(s), or down stairs and through hallways, or across streets to get to the ocean. Carry your chair 25 feet to the ocean edge and watch a 180 degree sunset at the sea wall. Does the drink you brought with you need a refill or you forgot your camera? No problem. A few steps back and you have it. Don't want to move 25 feet to the ocean edge? Just watch a sunset, sunrise, or the ocean from the very large lanai. The lanai has a ceiling fan for added comfort during the hotter months. Do you want your condo to be on a beach for sunbathing, snorkeling or just plain walking on it? We have a new upgraded stair access to our little semi-private “Rainbow Beach”. Access to the beach is easy 90% of the time.

SUNSET CENTRAL faces directly West providing WONDERFUL SUNSET shows. During the year the sunsets move back and forth from the island of Lanai and Molokai.

The PICTURES, VIDEO, and RENTER COMMENTS tell it all. Please note that the video is over 15 years old. The photos show the numerous upgrades since then. Once selecting a pic, click on it for full size close up.

DECOR: Our goal was to make the family/dining room feel as large as possible even though it is larger than usual for Maui. Our tv/stereo and our dining table set are on one wall. The sofa sleeper and recliner are set up on the other wall. The result is a large open area in the middle of the room. We think we accomplished our goal. We also added mirrors on one wall. These make the room feel larger as well as providing an ocean view from almost any direction you are facing.

SERVICE: We only have one condo to manage so we give 100% of our attention to you and no amount of attention is too much. Even though we can easily accommodate 4 people in our condo we only allow a max. of 2. This is to minimize the wear and tear. This also helps us to make sure our condo is in good shape when you arrive. We have a large separate bedroom with a CA king size bed. A separate bedroom is nice compared to a studio that has that hotel type feeling. We do have a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

IMPROVEMENTS: New carpet 01/23. Recently painted the walls and ceiling. Bathroom remodel completed changing from tub to walk in shower etc. New Smart TV in Family Room. Bose Play Bar added to TV for better sound and playing your music if you want from your blue tooth phone or I pads etc. New CA King bed mattress 01/22. New TV in the bedroom. We upgraded the FAN on our LANAI. This adds hours per day and night that are comfortable on the lanai. We also vented our washer/dryer unit to outside. Major feature! Less heating inside your condo. When you have a washer and dryer you are not spending part of your vacation watching your clothes in a community facility. We have a portable A/C in the bedroom. The add cost to use is $7.00 for the days used. Renters should let us know if the A/C was used and how many days after their stay.

POOL: Our pool is not oceanfront. See our photo. The pool would not be the main reason for renting our condo.

Beautiful location right on the ocean!
We loved our stay. The location was beautiful and right on the ocean. We saw turtles daily! Very close to numerous beaches and great food (especially papi’s cinnamon rolls). ByuchThose were delicious and highly recommend.

Waves and Turtles!
Living in Nevada, we don’t get to hear waves breaking upon a shore line so we just loved sitting on the lanai and reading our books while listening to the waves breaking! And, from the lanai you could see turtles pop their heads up for air! Pretty awesome! The unit was also nicely furnished and corresponding with the owners was easy.

We'll Be Back
It took 25 yrs., but we're back. We had our honeymoon on Maui and couldn't wait to get back now celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The condo was in a perfect location. Close to shopping, dining and beaches. The views are spectacular. Everything was provided for the beach and cooking. Neighbors were friendly and helpful. Amazing sunsets and turtles!
Amazing sunsets every night and access to snorkeling with turtles from the condo. It had everything we needed, grilled fresh fish every night. Not an huge issue, but kitchen gets hot while cooking and doesn't cool down quickly. Would stay again.

Loved time on the lanai
This is definitely an amazing spot to stay for that waterfront and the sound of the waves. We spent every morning and evening we were there out on the lanai listening to the waves crashing. We were there between two tropical storms so it was too cloudy for those sunsets, but still gorgeous. It was nice and close to lots of different spots to eat/visit and we like staying up that far north because we can avoid having to drive up and down the two lane freeway our whole trip. The Plantation House and Hula's Grill were two places we really enjoyed.

Amazing view and turtles
We had a very pleasant stay at Sunset Central. Ray was always communicative. He found out there would be construction next door and offered a full refund or 50% off. The view of the ocean is to die for and the turtles swimming around you if you go on the little beach are so fun to watch. You have to be on the little beach on earlier side or the waves get big and difficult to get onto it. Everything is provided from towels to beach chairs and umbrella. But you have to do a load of laundry before you leave, so if you are not into that this is not your place. The w/d is a small unit so it makes sense to help out the cleaners. Location is great with short walk to get coffee, etc. Food trucks so close and yummy! You can bring back food and watch sunset for dinner. No need to go out to eat. There is only AC in bedroom and you pay extra for it. I was here in Aug and was hot in the living area. The fire was close but at condo you would have no idea that the fires happened. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!! I miss it already.

We have never stayed at a vacation home where we would actually choose to forgo a nice restaurant for dinner in order to pick something up so we could hurry back before sunset and eat on the pristine lanai after a day of exploring. Everything we needed and more was provided at Sunset Central. We have fallen in love and hope to return very soon.

Location perfection
The location couldn't be any better! Condo is close to shops, best beaches, and restaurants. You really cant get any closer to the sea. The little beach along with the neighboring larger beach are really all you need. You can snorkle and swim (best when tide is low). Turtles were seen every day. Sitting at the lanai table or lawn chair watching the sun set was magical. The pool was a perfect place to swim and cool down. The condo is well stocked. It coupd definitely use some updating. We did go buy a new set of bed sheets. The ones on the bed when we arrived were so pilled they felt like sandpaper. Some minor refreshing would make this rental a 10 star!!

Welcome to Paradise
The views are stunning. From the ground floor lanai, you have unobstructed views of Molokai and Lanai, as the waves splashed against the sea wall. There was nothing better than just stepping out of the unit and enjoying the gentle breezes, as whales frolicked right before your eyes, while turtles basked on the sandy beach next door. The unit was clean and well stocked with basic vacation necessities. An added bonus, was not having to climb any stairs at the end of a long day, or lugging up suitcases. We even interacted with some permanent residents, they were very pleasant and welcoming. This is certainly a friendly place. All in all, it was an unforgettable stay in a unforgettable unit. Ray is certainly on his game and made it a very smooth occupancy. We certainly look forward to staying here again.

Any closer, you’d be wet really describes it all. Enjoyed a wonderful week of fun in Maui and relaxing on the lanai. Saw whales and turtles off the lanai every day. Comfortable condo. Good bed and shower. Nice friendly neighbors. We had friends staying in a Kaanapali condo over to enjoy sunset and they were amazed at the location. There isnt a fancy resort but a wonderful relaxing place with easy parking.

We absolutely loved it here! The sunset was beautiful and being during the height of whale season, we saw so many right from or condo! We even saw turtles in the beach. This was the perfect, private, quaint place, close to restaurants, food trucks, and beaches. Very responsive... We had issues night one with the wrong wifi info and they texted us immediately. So easy to work with! Definitely recommend!

So many whales and turtles
The condo was clean and quiet and the view was spectacular. We were able to see whales every day from the lanai. Turtles (mostly one but one day two) were on the beach every day, and you could see multiple in the water just off the beach. Short drive to many restaurants and other beaches and we walked to both Times supermarket and the Food Trucks across the street multiple times during our stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again if we come back to Maui.

Perfect Maui Stay
This condo is fantastic! Loved waking up to the amazing views and just listening to the waves. As advertised, the ocean is literally steps from your doorstep. We saw sea turtles on the little beach and enjoyed a little swim there too. This place provided a true sense of privacy. It was quiet, uncrowded and peaceful. Although not fancy, the condo was impressively clean and provided everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The owner was very informative and helpful. We had the opportunity to volunteer packing and serving Thanksgiving meals for the community at Joeys kitchen. The owners there anre amazingly caring people who experienced the fire themselves. We met many strong Maui residents who are remaining hopeful and feel honored to have met them. We had zero problems here and feel that we picked an amazing place we will want to come back to. Words can’t express how awesome we found this stay!

We saw a monk seal!
Staying at this property was great. Everything we needed was in the condo, including beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, small cooler bags, etc. The lanai was very nice and we ate all our home cooked or take out meals there overlooking the beautiful view of Molokai, and of course the water. From the back yard you can see both Molokai and Lanai. When the sun is out, the water is a beautiful emerald green to blue to dark blue color. We couldn't get enough of it. The waves break over some reef not too far out and we got to see some surfers, paddle boarders, jet skiers, kite surfers, kayaks, etc. One amazing highlight of this area are all the turtles. All in all on our trip we saw dozens of turtles, including many that crawled up the small beach adjacent to the condo. We also saw a monk seal flop up on the beach and take a 10 hour nap. A turtle crawled up and slept right next to it, and another turtle came up on the beach also. It was quite an amazing site. The location of the condo is great. Kaanipali, an amazing beach, is just a short drive away. As well as 10 or so other spectacular beaches. We were very sad to drive past Lahaina several times and see the aftermath of the fires. Don't let this be a reason not to come because there is still plenty to do and the people are very appreciative of the visitors. Thanks to Ray for letting us stay and I would definitely come back again!

Amazing honeymoon
We loved our stay! The view was breathtaking and the location was great. The condo had everything we needed, even binoculars to get a good look at the turtles on the beach! Enjoyed seeing turtles every time we swam by the condo. We hope to stay again.
