Dan is amazing!
I cannot tell you anything about the property as we did not get to make our trip down to stay. The day before we were scheduled to leave, our 8-month-old black lab became very ill and ended up in the pet ER for three days. What I can tell you is that Dan and I stayed in touch regarding whether we would be able to make it or not, he sent best wishes for our pup and in the end offered to schedule a different stay for us at a later time. He absolutely did not have to do this as it was not his fault at all. This was beyond our control. This just helps me remember that there are still amazing people in this world, and I couldn't be more grateful to him.

Budget friendly place in the heart of town.
If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in the heart of Nags head this is it. However don't count on the trundle as a sleeping place. It might as well not be there, there ain't nobody going to be able to sleep on that thing.

Great time with family
My family and I stayed here over Easter and were able to walk to nearby shops and even the beach. The kitchen tables was also great for a family of 5 adults to play games when it was rainy! The place was very clean and overall very enjoyable.

needs deep cleaning. Had roach traps, dirty floors, dirty sheets
The grass was up to our waist, not pet friendly. Worn down furniture, living room blinds were torn. Dirty, stained carpet. Food crumbs inside the lower cabinets in the kitchen, dirty silverware in drawers. Multiple roach traps beside the refrigerator, beside the toilets in bathrooms, in the cabinets beside the stove, underneath the dressers in the bedrooms where our pets could easily have been able to get to them. Thick dust on the furniture in the dining area. The sheets had holes and blood stains on them, the beds were made up but the sheets did not feel or look fresh. There were pieces of trash under the beds. No surface in that house felt like it had really been cleaned. We contacted the owner the day we arrived to let him know about our concerns. He said he could send someone over to clean or give us a refund but then we would need to find another place to stay. It’s not that easy to find another place to stay on such a short notice, so we decided to let someone come clean as he offered and try to make the best of it. We didn’t want take any more time away from our vacation dealing with this. The cleaning person that was sent was a neighbor. He came over with Clorox wipes, bleach spray and bug spray and asked what needed to be done. The man said the roach traps were not harmful to animals (even though the label said harmful to humans),he said roaches are something you have to deal with “when living in the south”. He took the sheets home with him to wash them himself and returned them later. Throughout the week we began noticing more issues with the house, but again, we had already paid and already had a conversation with the owner. The kitchen faucet handle broke off the first time we turned the water off, it looked like it had been glued back on before. A kitchen chair was held together by a hose clamp. The front door would not shut all the way by itself, we had to constantly make sure it was closed so our dog would not run out. We saw what looks like black mold in the master bathroom near the Bathtub. I called VRBO to let them know about our stay. They said that if we had called them the 1st day we could have been refunded/placed in an emergency rental. The owner did not tell us. They made it sound like we were just out to get a free vacation rental. We were told to contact the owner and discuss further. Owner began to have an attitude and became defensive before we even mentioned any type of refund. Would definitely not stay here again.

Nice, comfy and cozy place!
Overall we had a good time. Would like to give feedback on a couple of things! The front door is very tricky. I am not sure if it's the lock or if a vacuum is created and several times we could open the door from inside and outside! The dishwasher needs to be replaced! All else was great!

Great cozy home
Clean home with all you need to cook. The location in a quiet neighborhood with access to drop kayaks in canal and boat was amazing so was the walk to a great sunset each evening. Plenty of space with bedrooms and baths. Quick drive to Jockeys Ridge and other points of interest. Definitely recommend this home.

A Wonderful Get-Away
This was a nice house to stay in - 5 min drive to beach/stores. Any questions I had were responded to within minutes. I wish there was a little path through the yard to the sidewalk behind the house on 158 - would make waking to places easier, but definitely not a deal-breaker. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels/paper products/soap available at check-in. Thank you for sharing your house with us

The owner of this house was awesome. I emailed him multiple times with questions, and he always relied within hours. He provided recommendations and was always polite in his answers. The house really is close to multiple beaches, and if you want to go to the pier, it's only 3 miles from the house with plenty of parking. Don't fret that it isn't waterfront. You have quick access to the water. It has everything you need, and it came exactly as advertised. Considering we booked a little later and was worried about finding a place, this little cottage turned out to be a great find.

The house is equipped for 6 guests to enjoy. Dan was great to communicate with. The pool at the club was nice and not overly crowded. The location between beach and sound was ideal for sunrises and sunsets. It was a wonderful stay for all of us!

Nice getaway
The cottage was clean and good for a getaway. We basically only slept there. It was a tad small to just hang out and we only had 3 people. It is a drive to the pool and beach but both close. Dan was very responsive to any questions we had. Overall we enjoyed our time in OBX.
