With the beach right at your fingertips, this family-friendly home is exactly what you need for that much-needed beach-cation! Take in unobstructed beach and ocean views from your private deck while having lunch. If the beach is too crowded or is not your cup of tea, you can always visit the community outdoor pool for a refreshing midday splash. Then, rinse off the sand and chlorine in the outdoor shower and come back home to relax after a fun-filled day.

Inside, this beachfront escapade boasts a cozy setting with wood accents throughout. The open floor plan combines the fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, and living into one big space. When mealtime comes around, the kitchen will have your back. Equipped with great appliances, including a dishwasher, full-size fridge, stove, oven, and drip coffee maker, it will make cooking a breeze. The breakfast bar is a great addition to the dining table. Then, unwind in the living room and watch something entertaining on the TV or start planning your next adventures!

The community pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Availability is subject to change at the discretion of the HOA.
We highly recommend 4x4 vehicles for parking at this rental home. Storms can quickly change the condition of a parking area causing sand accumulation and potential vehicle damage (either sand-blasting or vehicles becoming stuck). Vacasa is not liable for any towing costs or damage to a vehicle and cannot guarantee the condition of a parking area.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Great beach place!

Can’t beat the beach
I’m not a beach person so having a beachfront spot is key to regularly escaping the beach. No hauling stuff back and forth, great for independent kids who you can still keep an eye on when they want to go to the beach. Clean and perfect temp community pool. Place is great with the right mindset, certainly not luxurious, but worked for our family of 4 plus pup. SO MANY TOWELS (better quality and cleanliness than I expected) made this work for us.

It is all about location, location, location
We have been in this cottage for many years now. Friends have been in fancier homes, but this has a great view and an old time beach cottage flavor. It is why we come down here. Already booked for next season!

Really Enjoyed Our Vacation!
I have stayed at houses in Corolla, Kitty Hawk and Nags Head, and this house is just perfect for our vacation. Sea Salt Cottage is RIGHT on the beach. It seemed like the waves at high tide were right below us. The furniture is comfortable, including the beds. It's well-stocked with utensils and cookware. We enjoyed our stay here so much, we've already booked it for the same week next year!

Serene winter beach getaway
Loved this property location! When they say you're on the beach, you are ON the beach. The surf kisses the home's piles at high tide. It was an especially great stay with my dogs, easy to hang on the deck with the gate closed, and to de-sand before heading inside.

Must Stay
You could not get any closer to the beach/water. This was the perfect stay for my husband and I and our two children. Plenty of room for all of us. We stayed for Memorial Day weekend and the weather and views did not disappoint. Knowing all you had to do was walk down the stairs and your feet were in the sand made it stress free with two children. The beach was not crowded at all which was perfect. The cottage was also close to many shops and restaurants making it the perfect location. I highly recommend staying here and would love to stay here again!

Perfect spot
Location, location, location! The deck was awesome. The home was a bit musty smelling and it provided bare bones necessities, but the location and deck make up for any shortcomings in this older vacation home.

Location is top notch. Direct access to the waves. Would be nice to have a walkway from the driveway to the home that was not all sand. Beds were absolutely horrible. Very hard and the one in the bunk room leans very bad. I understand you pay for the location, however for the price of a weeks stay, some things could be improved. the shower handles were broken, mold on the shower curtain, kitchen cabinet falling off. All the dresser drawers were falling apart or stuck. Would also be nice to have kid friendly dishes and cups. Not all glass.

We actually cried when we left!
We LOVED this place. Right on the ocean, dog friendly and clean. It’s about 15 minutes to everything you can possibly imagine. We had a great time. The only thing I’d say is that the 1/2 bath is very small and there was a big stain on one of the mattresses that we didn’t know until we stripped the bed upon checkout. 100% would stay here again.

House is right on the water. Porch is very nice to sit out on. Has a dog gate so the dogs could not get off the porch which is nice. Nicely stocked with all of the amenities that you would need to use, pots and pans, knives, etc. Keurig and coffee pot. TV with more stations than you would actually need. Master bedroom has a king bed very firm.

Great location -everything else was bad
The location couldn't be better. The back deck is literally on the beach and I loved the outdoor shower to wash the sand off before going in the house. There REALLY needs to be some money re-invested into updating the quality of the house. The furniture (couches, beds, appliances...) were all terrible. Parking there was sketchy because you are literally parking on a sand dune. We never got stuck in the driveway, but I was concerned every time we had to leave. If you can't park in the driveway, there isn't anywhere else to park. The shower drain was slow and I asked maintenance to come fix it. I asked them to notify me before coming in to fix it and never heard from anybody about whether it was fixed. It's not fun to shut the water off while lathering the soap so the water doesn't build up in the tub...ick! This place would be so much better if money were put back into making things nicer.

Great location . Sand dunes were so close to house not even a 4 wheel drive could get in the driveway, even if there was a driveway. Had to park at pool house. Blinds were broken and tv was awful.

Location, Location, Location
This house is located in the perfect place. The porch with a screened-in section was fabulous. We also like the layout of the house inside. It could use some updating like the sofas and beds that were a bit uncomfortable. We had some issues with the housekeeping (moldy shower curtain and the family before us had a dog that must have had an accident on the carpet). Vacasa sent someone out immediately to fix these issues and was very responsive.

If you’re looking for a beachside retreat, this is absolutely it. You are quite literally on the beach. However, with that, comes some struggles with getting into the house & parking. While the listing says you need a 4x4, even with that, there would have been no hope, as it was an actual dune in place of a driveway. Luckily we were able to park by the pool, and it was a short walk to the house, but you are required to go over the dune to enter the house. We had no issues, but I do wonder how anyone not completely physically able would access the house. Aside from that, if you are planning to spend most of your time at the beach, this house is perfect. There are plenty of rooms and loads of sleeping space, but everything could have benefited from some updating. Overall, I would likely book again as it is a great deal for the price.

Overrated
For the cost, this VRBO-listed house is not worth it. Sure, it’s right on the beach. That’s the best part, especially if you like to hear the waves 24-7. However, parking was a challenge. The parking area is covered with sand and you must go up a sand hill to get to it. The outside of the house is in poor condition. On one side, a piece of siding flaps in the wind and makes a ruckus of a noise at night. Inside at first glance is decent. Then you notice how dirty the air vents are, the backed up sink in the main bathroom, and the torn pillow with stuffing coming out. The so-called bathroom off the main bedroom isn’t big enough to actually sit down on the toilet, and it can’t service the other bedrooms. The bathtub faucets aren’t attached to the bathtub so they move around when you try to turn them on and off. The outside of the windows had not been cleaned in a long time. Once wiped though you could actually see the ocean more clearly. The screens on some of the windows certainly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The instructions on using the TV were bad. We finally used our own screen-sharing to watch the movie we wanted. Wi-fi in general was good though.

Overall a lovely post-Christmas get away...
My husband and I enjoyed our time at the beach. The view from the porch and the distance from the ocean is amazing. We saw dolphins, tons of birds, thousands of stars at night before the moon rose, and enjoyed walks on the beach with our dog. However, there were three problems. First, when we arrived, the dune had blown over the driveway so much that it was several feet deep. There was no way our Subaru Outback could get through to the parking spot. We were aware that there would be some sand to drive through but this was impossible. When I called customer service we were told that there had been a wind storm recently and that they would try to get someone out to fix it but not to count on it. It was super difficult to get all of our stuff into the house because of the dune and a super deep step off of the driveway to the house steps. We parked at the alternate spot near the pool house until one night when there were no spaces there then we parked at a nearby empty house and placed a note on our dash with our phone numbers in case someone needed us to move our car. The second problem was mildown in the fridge and freezer. The third was a unwashed stain on the matress pad (we took the sheets off to shake some sand out and found it). We called and the mildew was cleaned and the matress pad was changed in a couple of days. Plus, the furniture and beds were not very comfortable. Overall, a good stay but I don't think we would rent here again unless the furniture was updated.
