At first, I thought, "not staying in a refurbished dairy barn". But did it and glad we did!! This old dairy barn has been turned into a perfect place to stay near the oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches. We enjoyed being just a few miles from the center of town and really any parts of town...grocery, churches, great restaurants. Also, if fishing is your goal then there are at least 3 wonderful lakes for doing that. We were blessed to have beautiful weather the four days we stayed in the country so we enjoyed walking our two mini aussies in the fields (just be cautious of the cattle as they are curious about you and give the bull due respect). The barn is set up to have a gorgeous view out the french doors and we watched the cattle up close and viewed with binoculars a herd of deer several days in the far pasture near the trees. We didn't get to sit much on the patio but it was a very nice viewing point as well. We needed this quiet, peaceful stay in the country. We missed WiFi just a little bit but were able to use our hotspot to get FreeVee and other Amazon Prime channels. The huge shower in the bathroom was a nice luxury. A grab bar on the side wall would be a nice addition to it. The kitchen is very useable. Check with Julie about any specific cooking needs you may have. She was very responsive to any concerns or needs we had. She checked by text with us each day. We were so pleased with our stay and recommend that everyone visit "the Barn" and Nacogdoches.
