We stayed here a year ago for a few days and were so happy, we rented again but for two weeks this year.
Once again, we were so comfortable and satisfied with this airy, elegant house, its amenities, and location. It's in great shape after having had many renters since its inaugural year, still in nearly new condition. The house is a gem, furnished in very good taste---low key, comfortable, nicely proportioned furniture... very easy to keep clean on a longer stay. The house isn't sterile looking even with the very modern conveniences, it has some nice antique or country touches. The great kitchen, big marble countertop, for some more ambitious cooking than last time-- a lot of knives, bowls, pans, everything you need for a serious meal. Even baking tins.Everything works. t's a well equipped, comfortable home.
The location is what makes a vacation special=== how close are you to what you need it to be. We got more into the area, a stone's throw from the water, a gorgeous view, quiet neighborhood with dirt roads and old fashioned mailboxes, no sidewalks, picturesque Connecticut. To this citygoer it was heavenly, peaceful and private taking walks, but not deserted or too far from civilization. . A I settled in with my family and enjoyed leisurely days when i stayed in and cooked,or read, did crossword puzzles, wrote and took long walks around the town, it's so pretty. The owner is lovely: warm, helpful and informative, but not overbearing, communicates quickly and easily when needed. We hope to return again and again.
