Spacious 3 bedroom Villa with private pool, patio and roof terrace.

Large Cretan style Villa with comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people (no sofa beds!!) in a quiet, private location yet close to all amenities with fantastic views out to the sea and also of the surrounding mountain side.
Comprising of 1 double bedroom and 2 twin rooms (which can be turned into doubles), all of which have ample wardrobe and storage space and Air Conditioning. There are two bathrooms, one of which is the en suite to the main bedroom. The main living area and kitchen are open plan with high wooden ceilings giving the villa a spacious airy feel.
The Villa also has a private 50m2 swimming pool with a large patio area and brick build BBQ. There is also a roof terrace.
The nearest beach is 3km away in a lovely seaside village called Panormo.

Exceeded expectations
We had the most wonderful time away. Helfried welcomed us and is such a kind hearted helpful man who made us feel welcome. The accommodation was clean, tidy and had great air conditioning. The pool is stunning and was very clean. The location is fantastic as it’s very quiet but only a couple of minutes drive to a friendly supermarket. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby and some great local produce at markets. This whole experience started before I got on the plane with great communication from the homeowner. Can’t wait to return!

Great location
Wonderful, spacious villa with everything we needed. Fantastic pool. A 'swimmer's'pool. It is deep but our young grandchildren loved it. Armbands essential! Ricky and Helfried were so friendly and helpful. Can only recall one issue which was promptly dealt with. Very quiet location but nearby town has restaurants and shops and a small beach with a shaded area.

Fantastic holiday!
Such a lovely little house for our family to use as a base. Ricky was so welcoming and helpful and supportive throughout our stay both by her and her husband and we felt that no question was too small to ask. Thanks to Helfried for rescuing me at the supermarket! We enjoyed popping to the beach in Panormo, which is a 5 minute drive from the house most days to enjoy the sea, cocktails and local cuisine. We always came back in the afternoon to enjoy the pool and cooling off at the house. All in all, a great place to relax, get some sun and enjoy some small towns which are not touristy (yet!)

RIkki was amazing, what a lovely helpful lady she is so helpful. They only two problems we had were that the beds had springs and clearly they are not that new so the springs were sticking up and with two of us with back problems they caused us a lot of pain. The house otherwise is amazing and the pool is excellent, the only slight problem is that if you wanted to get into the pool you had to shower off the sun protection even if it was waterproof so this was a bit of a hassle.I would recommend hiring a car as well as it is fairly remote. Also please bear un mind that you have to vacate the property at 10am which when you have a 7pm flight it is difficult, we put our luggage in the luggage room for a fee at the airport and got the bus from the airport to the town but Heraklion airport is badly organised and you cannot check your luggage in until 2 hours before you fly. I would recommend that the owner left a day between people vacating the property and the new travellers arriving the next day, this way we would get longer in the villa and RIkki would not have to be in such a rush to clean the villa make the beds up etc which would be better all around for the travellers and RIkki.

Wonderful stay.
We travelled by car from UK. After 4 days we arrived at the Villa. We were delighted. It was absolutely lovely in every way. The pool was fantastic. We were met by Ricky and Halfried who could not have taken greater care of us. Despite being only 5 mins from the little seaside resort of Panormo, the village of Roumeli retains its authentic atmosphere of daily life and we were made very welcome by its year round inhabitants. The villa itself was amazingly well equipped with everything one needed to spend a month on holiday there. The BBQ was great and we had some delightful meals with all my family who flew out to join us for a few days. Our glorious month flew by and we were so sad to leave. It was our second stay in a villa in Roumeli and we fully intend to return next year. The two local supermarkets are small but supply everything you need and the town of Perama,10 mins in land provided both interest and a wide selection of specialist shops. The lamb at the butchers and the baclava from the sweet pastry shop were beyond compare. There was nothing about this holiday that disappointed.

Fantastic villa
We had an absolutely amazing time at Mountain View Villa. It was our first time in Crete and we will definitely be back again! The villa was even better than we expected and was really clean & well equipped with everything we needed. The pool area was fab, bigger than some hotel pools we’ve stayed at in the past, and we loved sitting out on the roof terrace at night watching the sunsets. Kevin was so helpful and kind, even when we had issues with our initial flights being cancelled. And Ricky and her husband were lovely people and helpful too, and made us feel right at home when we arrived at the villa. We fell in love with Roumeli and Panormos close by…there’s some lovely restaurants in Panormos, Aldi was a short drive away and super handy, plus a little local shop 5mins walk away. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Very pleased we went
Very pleased we had 10 days in Kevin’s clean and comfortable house with its excellent pool which is roughly between 4 foot and 5 foot deep, with easy access via steps in one corner, and which was perfect for our 11-year-old and eight-year-old children to spend all day in and really get into their swimming! It was big enough for mum and dad to swim properly as well. The local beach at Panormos is a five minute drive away with lots of places to eat and good swimming. The quiet Cretan village that the house is in is not a lively tourist resort at all, which was perfect for us. The arrival and check out were very smooth and friendly. A relaxing family holiday.

We had a very enjoyable week at Mountain View. It's a lovely villa with a great pool. It was difficult to find, particularly in the dark and you really need a car. The taverna is a short walk away and the views are spectacular and the food delicious. We have lots of fond memories of our week.

We loved our recent stay in Roumeli, the villa was lovely and very accurately portrayed. The pool was great to have as temperatures were high...Helfried and Ricky were very friendly and helped us with any queries especially with local recommendations for places to eat. The place was quite rural so a car was an essential, but we got taxis one night to the local town... All ages were happy with our holiday in Mountain View! Wonderful Villa
We have just returned from Crete, staying at Mountain View. The Villa was just perfect in every regard. We have stayed in the village many times and this Villa was the best yet. The welcome from Ricky & Helfried, who live close by and look after the day to day management were so kind and friendly. The Villa was spotless and the pool regularly monitored and cleaned. We will be booking again and again. This Villa will be our perfect Cretan retreat.

Awesome Villa
From the moment we booked the villa, Kevin kept us regularly updated and answered any questions promptly. He was extremely helpful and understanding with regards to covid-19 especially as we wasn't sure we would even be able to go ahead with the our holiday until the very last minute. When we arrived at the villa Ann was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Especially when our suitcase was delayed by 24 hours and she rescued us by lending us travel plugs as well as waiting for our late arrival due to our flight being delayed and us getting lost! We literally cannot thank Ann enough! The villa was clean and well equipped. It is smaller than we expected from the photos however it was the perfect size for our family of 6 which included 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 child. We hired a car which we would highly recommend when staying at the villa as it is quite remote although there is a local supermarket and a couple of restaurants within a 10 minute walking distance. We would definitely recommend the villa and will be back!

A wonderful house with a terrible reception
Full disclosure - this house is lovely. It’s very clean, the pool is huge and very nice, the roof terrace has a beautiful view, the beds are comfortable and the house was very clean. However, the check in process was quite frankly the worst experience I have ever had with renting any property. Prior to checking in I had been communicating with the owner Kevin, who stopped replying all together despite multiple voicemails and texts and emails. On arrival, we were greeted by the host Anne and we immediately got off on the wrong foot. We are a group of 22-25 year old young professionals & I have never felt more patronised or talked down to in my life. When we arrived, Anne was surprised that we weren’t a family and seemingly confused which felt very strange seeing as we had provided all our information. We then asked if we could have the names of the supermarkets (two are a 7 minute walk away) however Anne simply said ‘I don’t know the names I don’t pay attention to them’, despite having lived there for 18 years. Her advice was to take a 40 minute walk then a 20 minute bus to Lidl when there are two perfectly good supermarkets that we discovered genuinely a 7 minute walk away. When asking for a taxi number, her response was ‘do you expect me to get you from A to B’ - i was simply asking for a taxi number as she was extremely shocked we hadn’t rented a car. We quickly figured out ourselves that it was incredible easy to get taxis to come up to the villa despite it being very remote in a very small village, however she was extremely unhelpful with providing information in regards to how to get a taxi from the villa. Next, we were informed the freezer was broken. In 33 degree heat this was a serious issue for us. Upon saying that it was broken, and that they would get a new one to us on Tuesday (we arrived Saturday), I asked if there was any time way of getting it replaced sooner, to which she said to me ‘you’re not in the UK anymore, I don’t know if you’ve been abroad much but things don’t work as quickly around here’. This was so rude, unacceptable & incredibly patronising. This was much of the response whenever we asked for any help for literally the basics & the conversation turned into a very hostile and heated discussion, something I have NEVER experienced with any rental property. If you’re looking for a nice villa with busy towns & lovely beaches 15-30 mins taxi away, this place is great - just don’t expect a warm welcome.

Lovely holiday away from it all
A lovely stay in a welcoming village but no more than 5min drive to the beach and bars. The village itself has a lovely restaurant and several bars if you wish to sample a 'real' experience. The villa was lovely and the pool amazing and much needed during this fortnight. We loved every minute and will return.

Mountain View Villa - Roumeli
Mountain View Villa is in a lovely location and is clean and well kept property with excellent provisions. The only comment would be that the pool is in need of re-painting, as when you brush against the wall of the pool, you come away with blue paint on you (which easily brushes off), also towards the end of the week, the white parts of our swimming costumes started to turn green..!!!

The house is very well equiped and comforteble, one complain about the pool: the paint was'nt dry or maybe wrong, and ruin my soks with blue paint and my wife's shoes and her medical soks. We hope that this house is stil availeble next year.

Basic, Tired and Uncomfortable
For: location, clean, size of swimming pool Against: basic, tired, does not lend itself to family living despite the 3 bedrooms, uncomfortable living area, small TV, lack of storage space in bathrooms, no shaver sockets, threadbare towels, no views despite name of the villa. Seriously, at £89 per night, this villa did not represent good value. The outside space around the villa is poor, dominated by a sizeable swimming pool flanked on two sides by flower beds and small trees - insects were a real problem because of this. The driveway is barely large enough for one vehicle; two vehicles could be a problem. Inside, there is not even a sofa provided in the living area but a rattan-like garden seating set which was uncomfortable. Fixtures and fittings were tired. Only one bedside table light provided despite there being two bedside tables in the main bedroom. Bathrooms lacked any reasonable storage space and there was an absence of shaving sockets. We stay in villas every year when we go on holiday and, for the money, this has to be the worst. If all you want is a base and don't intend to use the villa facilities, then stay in a hotel. At least you'll get your room serviced, a level of comfort, quality towels and clean sheets every few days. If, on the other hand, you expect to make full use of villa facilities when on holiday, this is probably not the villa for you, especially if you have children.

Basic and spacious
Had a lovely 11 nights stay, location fantastic, so central and set up in the hills. Both Perama and Panormo were lovely, many amazing Tavernas. We had a really super time. The Villa is spacious and peaceful. Ann and Bill were on hand to help solve the issues we had, which were unfortunately numbered quite a few minor issues and they didn't spoil our holiday. However 3 light bulbs blew, 5 hour power cut due to the water pump packing up on the final two days and then weak showers with low pressure, large umbrella over dining area broke, in a heat wave a bit dire! Pool needs re painting as the blue comes off on you and cozzies, thankfully with some scrubbing did come off my daughters new white bikini! Also it would be nice to be left some basics, soap, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, a few basics in the store cupboard. Never been to a property when this hasn't been the case and buying packets of each when only a few are needed adds up. Overall, however we would return as the villa was merely a base for exploring the beautiful island of Crete (which we did) and served us well. The pool is also a fabulous size and we did spend a lot of time playing and having fun in it!

Fabulous, peaceful rural retreat !
Wonderful spacious villa in semi peaceful rural area with spectacular views - Mountain View - perfect name for lovely villa. Fantastic sized pool, virtually everything required for a near perfect holiday. Only downside - no WIFI - which would make this villa perfect ! Well equipped in kitchen - all utensils we required. Would benefit from air con in living room/kitchen as very warm but just about managed heat with portable fans - air con spot on in bedrooms ! This is a lovely place to stay but if you have young children - take DVDs to keep entertained in the evening as there is not much choice on television in Crete ! Perfect for an away from it all holiday - we really enjoyed our stay and would like to say huge thanks to Dave for his assistance fixing the toilet and round the pool - sterling work ! Also big thanks to Ann & Billy who greeted us and provided vital information ! Had trouble finding villa due to Crete road signs - extremely obscure - GPS a definite plus getting round island ! So apologies for late arrival ! Car essential for staying at this villa - bit off the beaten track but that was a positive for us - do not expect entertainment on your doorstep - but plenty within 15 min drive. We liked Bali ( Akrogiali Taverna)and Panormo (Kastros and Porto Parasiris) - plenty of nice places to eat in both villages. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely return to this area - had everything we look for in a holiday.

Beautiful aspect, gardens and pool
Spacious villa with particularly lovely terraces and pool which are very well maintained. Some of the equipment in the villa needs attention though such as freezer door, dishwasher, coffee machine and one of the air conditioning units. Some household items - matches, detergent, bin liners etc would have been appreciated (I would have been happy to pay a little more for the booking for these type of items to be included). Also, the village no longer has any shop or taverna but it is only a short drive to Panormo, the nearest town. The local contacts recommended by the owner were friendly and helpful.

Ein perfekter Urlaub...
Wir (Familie mit 3 Kindern) waren für 11 Tage in der Mountain View Villa. Jeder der es etwas ruhiger mag, wird es lieben. Die Villa ist mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet, inkl. Eiswürfelautomat. Das beste ist natürlich der Außenbereich mit dem Pool, der groß genug ist zum Schwimmen und Spielen. Das Meer ist in Sehweite. Im Dorf gibt es Taverne und Supermarkt. Der nächste Ort am Meer ist 2 Km entfernt, dort gibt es viele Restaurants und kleine Läden. Ansonsten ist man sehr zentral auf der Insel. Alles ist gut zu erreichen, Mietwagen vorausgesetzt. Vielen Dank und viele Grüße gehen raus an Helfried, der einem immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht. Für uns ein sehr perfekter Urlaub, dank dieser Unterkunft.
