We love the outpost but as returned guests we were a bit disappointed in the maintenance of the lodge. Deck walkway needed work. Shutters in the room needed service. Even though the food was good, the previous time it was magnificent.

Great lodge
This a great lodge and lived up to all our expectations. Great service, friendly staff and an enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable ranger in the form of Dean. This area of the Kruger Park is not so great for game viewing but the remoteness of the area, the beautiful baobabs and stunning birdlife makes up for the rest. We hope to be back as soon as possible.

What an incredible place
We picked the North of the Kruger National because we read it was more remote and not as busy as the South. Totally accurate and amazing. There is only one other lodge in the area so all the game driving are very private and quiet unlike the south part where it is more Zoo like. Also, it is known to be beautiful and scenic and it truly is. To access you can either drive or as we did take the echo skies charter plane from Johannesburg which was a comfortable, quick and enjoyable experience. The lodge : It is truly beautiful, the rooms are incredible, the views are stunning, the bedding amazing, ETC. ETC. It is like on the pictures, except it's better. Everything is top notch. The amenities, the food (delicious and diverse), the service (kind, friendly, attentive, personalized). You can sleep with the shades open and feel the breeze from your bed while hearing the sounds of all the animals of the bush. What an experience. The games : The is the highlight of the trip. Our guide, Donivan was incredible. So much knowledge but above all passion for the bush and its environment. He knew all about it and communicated to us with his kindness and sense of humor. Wow ! I would definitely recommend staying at least 4 nights to have the chance to see all of it. We saw so much wildness, animals, birds, insects, snakes etc. I travel a lot, but this was definitely a unique and incredible experience !

What an amazing stay we had at Pel‘s Post, the sister lodge of The Outpost! The location of the lodge is superb, the staff excellent and the whole area a must see especially in the green summer months. If you have a chance to visit The Outpost or Pel‘s Post, please do so!
