Begin with hors d'oeuvres by the dock and continue the decadent and beautifully plated meal in the Muskoka room with stunning views of Lake Muskoka. Put your feet up, relax and enjoy a glass of wine and good company. All prep, service and clean up is provided. A truly pampering and delightful experience.
In cottage massages - at the boathouse, Muskoka room or large top floor bedroom can be arranged with a local mobile massage service provider.
Falcon’s Nest is perched atop a granite outcropping, providing spectacular, extended views down to Lake Muskoka. The sprawling one-acre property is set on 200 feet of shoreline, experiencing beautiful lake sunrises. Your luxury retreat is located in a quiet, serene cove of Lake Muskoka, overlooking the picturesque island of St Hilda. Pike, bass, walleye, and trout share the pristine waters. Bring your fishing gear and fish right off the dock.
The quaint town of Port Carling and charming village of Bala are located minutes away. We are happy to provide personalized recommendations of where to eat, what to see, and what to do in the area.
For winter:
A 4x4 (all wheel drive) vehicle is necessary in the winter. The laneway leading to the cottage is regularly maintained and plowed, as well as the top parking lot, however, snow accumulates quickly in Muskoka and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary for your safety as there are steep hills on the way to the cottage Parking in the winter is at the top of the driveway, about a 40 ft walk downhill to the cottage, good winter boots are strongly recommended. A sturdy ice fishing sled is kept at the cottage for your use, to bring your gear down to the cottage. The boathouse and dock are closed in the winter. There is no direct access to the Lake from the dock in the winter, as the bubbler that is protecting our dock creates open waters directly in front of the dock. Never attempt to step out unto the frozen lake near the dock, any ice in this area will be thin given the bubbler creating open waters to protect the dock.
There is a snowmobiling trail that goes out unto Lake Muskoka a two-minute walk away from the cottage. If you see fresh snowmobile tracks, it is safe to venture out unto the lake. A very cool experience walking out unto the frozen lake, a lake with depths of 250 feet in places.
For summer:
Parking closer to the cottage is available - 2 spots in front of the garage (no inside garage parking available) and 2 spots en route, down the hill to the cottage. There is also ample parking in the parking lot at the top of the driveway.
There are several steps that lead down from the patio to the deck area, to the boathouse. The stairs are not suitable if there are mobility issues.
Also, the water is deep immediately from the shore line, boathouse and dock. There is no shallow water entry. Caution needs to be exercised at all times, especially with children.

A wonderful place in the warmer months to share a meal together, with the feeling of being up in the trees immersed in nature.

The boathouse and deck is down several steps that seamlessly blend with the rugged rock landscape of the Canadian Shield. Note: boathouse and access to the dock is closed in the winter.
In the summer, the boathouse is an awesome place to hang out, with a kegerator, mini fridge and lots of comfortable seating to soak in the sun and shimmering lake views. On cooler days, the large glass garage-like doors can be closed, providing a wonderful lounging spot right on the lake. In the summer, there is a water park available with large trampoline and slide ready to go in the lake. Lots of fun for young and old alike, free your inner child. A canoe, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards (with life jackets) are there for you to explore the lake and paddle around the nearby islands. The water is deep immediately off the dock, perfect for jumping into the lake and mooring your rental boat. The chic boathouse is a lovely place for lounging and being lulled by the beautiful, clear waters.
At the end of the night, cozy up in the wood-burning red cedar hot tub, looking up, taking in the vast night starry sky.
