The property and rooms are tired with a much needed renovation in progress. The pool and garden area is closed while undergoing the renovation, so expecting the place to be much better once this is completed. The rooms we were assigned could also use some renovation as there was cracked caulking around the tub and shower and green water staining on plumbing fixtures. Carpets could also stand to be replaced. Rooms were nice and comfortable, however.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially the staff at the Mokha Cafe during the breakfast buffet. They went above and beyond to make our breakfast experience the shining star of our stay there. I want to especially single out our server Abdullah T. who greeted us every morning with a warm smile and friendly air. He remembered our coffee orders from the first day and provided them upon arrival. He was absolutely the best and helped make our visit to Oman one the most memorable and positive holidays I have had in a long while.
The Grand Hyatt's location to the beach walk is another reason to select this Hotel despite the ongoing renovation. I did not miss not having a pool as we spent a lot of time on the beach and swimming in the gulf. Easy walk to some very amazing eateries, especially Mado in the Waterfront Shopping plaza.
