Cabin was clean, decks were dirty. Looked like they had not been cleaned at all. The fire pit had no gas so couldn’t be used unless you take the tank to get refilled. The grill was very dirty. When I spoke to seller he said we had to heat the grill and put water on it and scrub it. Not good. The chairs were dirty with dirty cushions. Also when we went inside the cabin there were only 3 clothes hangers. When I called the owner right away to let him know only 3 hangers and his reply was “I had about 40 there. I don’t know what year that was but there were only 3 in the main floor bedroom closet and I did find 2 more down in the bottom of closet which made a total of 5. I thought someone would get more hangers to us but never heard from him again. We just didn’t unpack. Also the closet upstairs in master bedroom the closet was locked and couldn’t be used. Only closet was on main floor. Very inconvenient. Pictures of both decks were not as advertised. We really didn’t use either. Not very inviting. I would not stay here again. The skillets in kitchen were not usable.

Really nice fall getaway
We came up for the annual pumpkin chunkin and had a blast. The owners care about their rental. It is one of the nicer places we have stayed in for years. I would come back in a heart beat.

Property was very nice and beds were comfortable. We did find out after we booked the property that in order to use the firepot, we needed to bring our own starter wood. That was not listed on the post. Also, we wanted to use the fire table as well, and apparently there wasnt any gas left in the tank, nor was there any flickers to light it. Owner stated there were flickers in the kitchen, but we didnt find any and the ones left outside were empty. Overrall great weekend, but i expected more with the amenties listed that we couldnt use. Also, there was not a single packet of hummingbird mix to add to the feeders.

Beautiful cabin
This was a great cabin. The view, as advertised, was beautiful. We watched the sun set every night. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the games were fun, and having two living rooms was so nice. It's a steep drive to get there, but our minivan made it.

The cabin was well maintained and had everything you need for your stay. Loved sitting out on the deck every morning with coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. The hummingbirds were fun to watch. The downstairs bed was very comfy.

We enjoyed a 4 week stay by 4 adults. The drive up to the house is a narrow winding road, but we became more comfortable with it after a few days. The view from the deck is wonderful and we enjoyed many sunsets. We also enjoyed watching from our tree top perspective the song birds and hummingbirds visit the feeders on the porch. The house had great wifi service and smart TVs in every room. We often listened to Apple Music on the Sonos speaker in the living room . We cooked many meals on the black stone grill on the porch and the compact well equipped kitchen. We frequently utilized the full sized stacked washer and dryer. The property representative was responsive to several urgent requests during our stay. We played Pickleball in Murphy, Hayesville, and Hiawasse. We caught brown and rainbow trout in July in Bryson City and the Upper Nantahala. We rafted the Nantahala Gorge. We visited Franklin, Cherokee, Bryson City, Brasstown Bald, Blairsville, Hayesville, Fires Creek Falls, Lake Chatuge, Elijay, and Murphy. Summer weather was comfortable.

Fantastic Home
My wife and I have rented many VRBO's over the last 10 years and usually they have some pros and cons. This property has only pros. The beds and living room furniture were extremely comfortable. The views from the deck are gorgeous and we especially enjoyed refilling the hummingbird feeders and watching them feed. WIFI is fast and there are Smart TV's in every room. Although we didn't use the lower level, it is set up for fun activities with a game machine, TV, foosball and table bowling. The road up to the house, although narrow is paved the entire distance. I can't say enough good things about this house. Great house, great views and easy access to town. Besides all this, there is a great restaurant 3 miles away, Julie's Place.

This was a roomy cabin. The views were gorgeous with lots of outdoor seating. Definitely follow guidance on driving to and from the property. We missed that detail on our way to check in, and found oursleves on a crazy path. The guidance is perfect and makes the ride up simple.

Details are important
Although the property and setting are beautiful, the lack of attention to some details detracted from our stay; things such as the code to enter the house didn't work. It took about an hour of additional phone calls just to get into the house, initially. It was also difficult to find at night. The house number was very difficult to find. On the positive side, the house and the games are very kid friendly, which we appreciated. We did have some problems with the internet connection and programs were interrupted because of this. The house was well stocked with needed items; towels, dishes; appliances, etc. I would be willing to provide additional information to the hosts regarding other minor details that were overlooked. If these minor changes were done, then I would highly recommend the location to anyone.

Beautiful, relaxing cabin
This cabin is beautiful, clean and well stocked with everything you need. Everything is comfortable and in great working condition. The scenery and views of the mountains are gorgeous. Gorgeous sunsets, and evenings on the porch. It’s very convenient to several areas, including blue ridge, Murphy, Hiawassee and Haysville.

One word... AWESOME!
Absolutely beautiful home near Murphy. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our group did not spend a lot of time in the home except to hangout and sleep due to playing golf and spending time with another group. The views are splendid and we were fortunate to catch the tailed of the leaves changing. The home was easy to get to. Communication was good, however, it would have been better to have a message the day after check in to ensure everything was in order. This is not a knock, but a suggestion as the house was in great condition and cozy. This is a great house for two small families to share due to the ample space and the house design. A nice gaming area for the children in the walkout basement. The main floor for adult conversation and relationship building. The to sleep I recommend the loft bed. It was extremely comfortable. Thanks for a great place and having the iPhone chargers by the bedside. Due to the departure requirements, it would be nice to have a reduction on the cleaning fee.

We will be back!
Beautiful property, perfect location. We went mining and played putt putt one day, it took us about 15 min to get there. The grocery store is about 15 min away and so is a wonderful restaurant named Julie’s. We highly recommend stopping by Julie’s and getting the fried green tomatoes. Our cabin was spotless, had tons of games for the kids. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and it was the perfect space for us.

Wonderful experience
I must say this was the BEST CABIN I could have rented. We only had a few nights stay but everything was top notch. The owner was quick to respond when we ran out of propane for the grill and deck fire pit. The cabin was equipped with everything you need from an extra floor fan to spray cooking oil. Loved the décor and very comfortable. This cabin truly was a home away from home. I will definitely keep this cabin in mind for the future. The drive to the cabin was easy, no steep driveways (use Apple Maps because there are two ways to go- the other way is much worse). All was told to us before hand. We also enjoyed feeding the birds with provided bird seed. Loved every minute of our stay. This is a special cabin.

Really enjoyed our stay at the property. Hosts clearly cared about making it a good experience. Had a ton of fun with the games available in the basement. Favorite thing was probably just sitting on the porch and looking at the mountains. Plenty of room and places to sleep. Hosts with nice and responsive.

There’s NOTHING bad to say about the Double Barrel Lodge. From the time we arrived, until the time we left, it was enjoyable. The place is super clean and very well maintained. The cabin is NOT commercialized at all- it feels like home. The beds are amazing and there are lots of them. The decks are great for morning coffee and evening sunsets. There’s just too much to list that we loved about the place. If you’re looking for a clean, nice, fun filled, cost effective place to stay—- THIS IS IT!!
