Highland House has a huge back porch and a side porch to relax and view the long range Snowbird Mountains. Soaring cathedral ceiling in family room with handsome, stone gas log fireplace. Enormous loft bedroom with king bed and a single day bed. Large main floor bedroom has a queen bed. Two full bathrooms with shower tubs. The full kitchen has a large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric stove with oven, and an island with seating for two. The laundry closet has a full size washer and a dryer. A Weber gas barbecue grill is on site. The location is near both downtown and great outdoor activities: fishing, hiking, and kayaking at Nantahala Outdoor Center. It is a short scenic drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. Pets are welcome ( up to two dogs under 50#) with no deposit fee.

Our October at Highland House
Long range view is fantastic! The beauty of watching the leaves turn color was so breathtaking. Every morning I just press the button on the gas fireplace so nice to have. Been coming here for three years , thanks Sandra. Sharon

Murphy Cabin
The cabin was comfortable, clean and well-stocked. We appreciated the good internet connection. The location is close to services and while the road is steep and narrow, it has good pavement. The cabin is pet-friendly but did not have any smells or visible damage.The bathroom, kitchen, furnishings, and decor are dated but in good shape. The host was considerate and easy to work with. The view is beautiful, but our visit coincided with constant rain from Hurricane Helene so we missed out on sitting on the nice porch.

It was, by far, the best place I have ever stayed. Very clean, nicely decorated, every appliance you could ever need. Loved having a washer/dryer to use if needed. Will gladly rebook in the future

Hidden gem

Everything was just as described or better. Magnificent view. The cabin was all we could ask for. Very clean, comfortable beds, amazingly stocked. All you need is your clothes and food. Just got home today and ready to go back again. The host is the best!

Excellent mountain cabin rental. Very clean! Very quiet & comfortable. Stocked with almost anything you would need. Views were second to none. 5-10 minutes from downtown, restaurants, shopping, etc. Overall great experience. Only complaint was tiny ants in bathrooms...needs to be sprayed.

So relaxing, so quiet
Property and house were perfect. Couldn’t ask for better. Beautiful view of the Smoky Mountains out the large windows. Sunset and sunrise were gorgeous. Quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. This is a fantastic house with everything you could need. Close to some interesting sites, one of which The John Campbell Folk school is 20 minutes away and has beautiful trails. We will be back!

Very nice long range views. Very quiet and close to downtown. Has everything you need. Ample cookware, very nice flatware and dishes. One of the best stocked VRBO rentals we've had. Large deck with comfortable rockers. Overall an excellent place and a very attentive property manager. We'd stay here again.

Great long range view of mountains and saw shooting stars. The owners are very responsive to any questions or concerns. The house was very clean had everything we needed. Before we left we booked for next year.
