"We had an amazing stay at Ruhondo. The staff were all so welcoming and kind, particular mention to Jana 😊. The rooms are basic but clean and the beds are very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. We had a lovely walk/hike along the lakeside and up into the village together with a gaggle of local children - more and more joined us as we walked 😊. The location is very peaceful and I would thoroughly recommend "

"The Policy from Expedia and front desk didn’t match. Front desk didn’t explain to me check out time and breakfast that was free. Only certain items were free for breakfast so they charge me. I went based off what I saw on Expedia when I booked check out time was at noon (12) and free breakfast. Front desk lady was very annoyed. She brought another girl that try to explain to me in a polite way but was also annoyed and overwhelmed. They kept messaging me on WhatsApp saying I didn’t pay for my room when I did pay for my stay online when I booked though Expedia. There was many pros and cons for my stay but will not stay here again due to staff not being understanding. "

"Lovely and large room with king bed and a fire place. Ensuite was also large. They also put hot water bottles in our bed at turn down - such a lovely gesture. Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Food good and fresh too. We also saw a Golden Monkey there too. Nb. Worth noting that the laundry service doesn’t include ironing/pressing."

"All the staff were very nice and warm and made us feel very welcomed. Starting from the manager, Kai, who checked us in and explained everything about the property to us, to the service staff who brought us water, the staff who started the fire in our room and the the waiter who served us during the meals. Small touches like cleaning up our boots and loaning us the gaiters. Chef coming out to ask what we liked. Really appreciate Ed"

"Very friendly and helpful staff with a restaurant on-site and the historic hotel/hangout across the street. A bit far from the national park. No fan, AC or mosquito net in room. Luckily, I didn't need the latter. A bit worn around the edges, but relatively comfortable. "

"We were only here for one night, but Frances was a great host. The room as clean and comfortable, and he provided a good breakfast. We opted not to go to Volcanoes National Park, but Frances provided us with a great guide, who took us to Twin Lakes. On that trip we met MANY wonderful Rwandans out in the countryside, and saw beautiful scenery. The next morning our guide, Janvier, took us to the park where the baby gorilla naming ceremony is held, then out into the countryside again. FANTASTIC!"
