This Blue Ridge Mountain cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Nestled in the heart of nature, this cabin offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. "Big Bear" cabin provides a peaceful and serene environment where you can relax and unwind. You can spend your days hiking, fishing, or exploring the nearby towns and attractions, and then come back to the cozy cabin to unwind and stargaze from the deck.
You will be warmly greeted by the property known as "Great Bear", this land has been stewarded by people that poured their love and passion into it's creation and is being continued by the current stewards. The land has a cozy vibe that allows everyone to feel at home.
As you enjoy the view from either deck you will see why people fall in love with this special place. Once inside," Big bear" invites you to relax in the spacious great room with leather furniture and a gas fireplace. The kitchen will have everything you need to whip up a dinner for 4. The two bedrooms each host a king size bed, or can be configured as two extra long twin beds with Tempur-pedic mattresses and 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets on all the beds assure a restful nights sleep.
You will have access to the main floor of the cabin, two bedrooms, one bathroom, spacious living room, lovely dinning room, kitchen, upstairs loft sitting/work area, front and back decks.
There is a master suite that is unavailable as well as the utility room and garage.
There is a second cabin on property that you can almost see from the back deck. Sometimes we will be on property and sometimes not. We are always a phone call away to help in any way we can. As the owners, we consider "Big bear" extremely comfortable and relaxing. We have kept it simple and spacious to keep the focus on the breath-taking views.

Less than 6 miles away you can enjoy Doe Mountain Recreation Area. This park features over 8600 acres, that can be explored by ATV, UTV, horseback, mountain bike, or hiking on foot. There are 60 miles of some of the best ATV trails in the region. You can rent ATV and UTV at Doe Mountain Outpost.
Watauga Lake is less than 10 miles away, enjoy boating, water skiing, fishing, hiking and kayaking on one of the cleanest lakes in the country. It is mostly surrounded by Cherokee National Forest, the views are stunning!
Another short drive will take you to the mountain bike Virginia Creeper Trail, rent the bikes and a shuttle takes you 17 miles up the mountain so you can coast down into the quaint little town of Damascus, Virginia where restaurants and a brewery awaits you.
