"This was a wonderful stay from start to finish! The inn is not nee and shiny but it IS old snd charming. The chef was super cool. Christine the manager (owner?) was great. She was accommodating, always helpful, and truly a special host. Becca our waitress was great too and deserves praise as well. Our room was cute and had all the necessities one needed. I'd DEFINITELY return!"

"Wonderful stay at The August House! Our renovated room was comfy and cosy and the bathroom was gorgeous. Loved the thoughtful touches throughout the house including ice cream sandwiches in the kitchenette fridge! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again! "

"The hotel is near many restaurants, bars and stores, all walkable. Some inconvenience is that the shower stay always wet because the drain is too high and there is many signs of water infiltration around the suite. But it was really clean and everything is in order and recent."

"Hot tub great. Lighting could have been better. Kitchenette area dark to work in and only had one plug for 4 appliances, made cooking difficult. No TV channels."

"I had a great stay. Check in/out was so easy, no hassle. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. My only feedback was that the decor and wallpaper was clearly very old, we’re talking probably from the days where smoking in rooms was allowed. Of course there was no smell or problem, so I still rated 5 stars, but the place is a bit dated. Otherwise the room was great, I didn’t find it loud despite the construction all around the building, and I slept well every night I was there. The location was incredible and had so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. It was a great place to stay for a Halifax vacation, I recommend it to anyone looking for a prime location on a budget. "

Great Find In Halifax

"We loved the Sutton Place Hotel. We had never been to Halifax so we weren't really sure if this would be a good location, but it was very convenient and it was easy to walk to restaurants and the waterfront. The front desk staff and bell staff were friendly and courteous. The room was small, but the decor was very updated and pretty - especially the bathroom. We also thought the price was very reasonable for an upscale downtown hotel."
