All the comforts of home with breath-taking views and open space, centrally-located in case you want to just grab a quick beer or meal in the center of town and walk home. We're working to update the space, but as with any house of this age, it has some quirks: Read-on to be sure this house is a good fit for you & your group.

Unlike many properties that boast a view of Mount Shasta from a single deck or window, the mountain is actually visible from the majority of the common rooms in this house, so you can even enjoy a view while washing dishes, enjoying dinner or breakfast, sitting in the living room, when you get out of the shower or sitting in your bedroom (Air Room). While located in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded mostly by open space, it's a quick walk to town.
Downstairs bathroom has a bath/shower combo, while upstairs has a separate bath and stand-up shower with twin sinks. This home has 4 bedrooms: 2 Downstairs ("Fire" & "Earth") and 2 Upstairs ("Air" & "Water"). Each room has 1 queen bed.
Work-from-home/Distance Learning: We offer Mount Shasta’s fastest fiber optic connection available and a variety of workspaces: in each bedroom, as well as plenty of spots at the dining table, in the couch, on the patios outside and in arm chairs. We've had 4+ video calls running simultaneously with enough privacy & space for everyone.
***TLDR: Like it Or Lump It?***
We want you to enjoy an amazing stay in Mount Shasta, whether that’s at our place or somewhere else. Here’s our quirks to see if ours is the right place for you:
NO SHOES & NO SMOKING: To maintain our level of cleanliness we ask that you do not smoke anywhere on the property and do not wear shoes inside.
NO PARTIES: it's a residential area with quiet hours from 10pm-8am. No unregistered guests permitted during quiet hours. Failure to comply with any of these rules could lead to immediate REMOVAL from the premises with NO REFUND.
TRAIN: You can hear the train that runs through Mt. Shasta anywhere in town. The nostalgic sound of trains at night for some is endearing, but if not, we provide earplugs.
STAIRS: There are 15 steep, narrow steps leading to the upstairs bedrooms. The views from the balcony & architectural window are worth it, but those with limited mobility might prefer to stay downstairs.
UPSTAIRS BATHROOM: The upstairs bathroom is attached to a walk-in closet and CONNECTS THE 2 UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS. There are pocket-doors to close-off these spaces for privacy, but we recommend that people who are comfortable with each other stay in the 2 upstairs bedrooms.
SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS are located at each of the entrances (including the front & back doors, as well as the sliding balcony door & back gate) for your safety and to protect the property AT ALL TIMES. Disarming, disabling, covering or otherwise tampering with cameras is grounds for immediate cancellation of the booking and removal from the premises with no refund.
LONG-TERM-STAYS receive a weekly cleaning for your convenience.
WILDLIFE: This home is surrounded by beautiful open space so on occasion & despite our best efforts, a stray bug, spider or other nature-loving creature may wander inside, especially if a door/window is left open.
MAINTENANCE/ACCESS: Landscapers maintain the yard Monday mornings in the warmer months & we will try to clear the drive if there is a lot of snow. Please do not be alarmed if you see someone entering the yard under these circumstances. If you are concerned, don't hesitate to reach out.

Guests are required to sign our rental agreement. Failure to do so will cancel the booking. A refundable $300 security deposit will be placed on hold and automatically released 7 days after check-out.
After you book, be sure to read the House Manual. There is a lot of information to help you enjoy your stay and to plan activities before you get here! It will also answer most of your questions during your stay.
