"Perfect base for exploring wine country. Our cottage was nestled in a vineyard with a lovely garden. It was very clean and well appointed with food for breakfast and snacks. Check in was easy and effortless. A wonderful experience. "

"Host was very accommodating however the property description doesn't match reality. Cooking was via a shared barbecue, washing up needed to be done in the bathroom vanity and the restaurant was closed. Most meals required a 20 minute drive to Nairne...or slightly further to Mt Barker. It would be OK for an overnight stay or weekend if you wanted to travel around the Adelaide Hills. Longer stays are very difficult."

"The moment we opened the door the cottage had embraced us both, we felt welcomed and relaxed. This amazing 1860 cottage has been beautifully renovated with rustic features and gorgeous timber furniture throughout. The open fireplace was very romantic along with the fair lights covering the ceil which felt special. The view of its garden was simply amazing. "Quaint, cozy cottage with all the amenities you could need. The view out the front windows overlooked grape vines - beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Amazing attention to detail - little things like, fresh bread on arrival; lots of brochures on walking trails, biking etc; hand-made list of things happening in the area during our stay; little bowls for jewellery on the bedside tables - just to name a few. We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway. Highly recommend."

"We loved our stay at Mataro cottage. Communication was excellent and we were given the check-in details a couple hours early to let us know the property was ready. There was a lovely welcome gift in the fridge which was a small cheese and dried fruit plate. "Very impressed with renovation and presentation with many little touches such as continental breakfast ingredients, books and brochures on the area, high standard of fixtures and fittings. An ideal base for our activities including gliding at Stonefield, meet with friends at Tanunda and a few wineries. Very relaxing spot."
