Enjoyed our stay and it was a very comfortable cottage. Everything was as advertised, and Maria the host communicated exceptionally well!
Great location, clean, cozy and small. It is a 2nd floor attic space so the ceilings are low and the shower is tight but the location is super convenient.
This is a great location. Heart of Mt Dora is a short walk away. There is a coffee shop really close. There are grocery stores right down the street. I grew up in Orlando so I have been coming to Mt Dora for decades. It was so nice to walk right out of my door to enjoy it. Keep in mind that this cottage is a little tight for taller people like me. Just have to pay attention to head clearance
Mother/daughter stay for the Mount Dora Arts Festival. Perfect location to be able to walk downtown. Communication with owner and check-in was a breeze. Two people were doable in the unit, but I would say better for a one person stay. I gave 4 stars instead of 5, because there was not a plug outlet in the bathroom. Very hard for 2 women to take a shower & dry hair! Never would have occurred to me there would not be a plug.
We needed a months-long rental, and owner Maria kindly moved a prior weekend booking in the middle of our desired dates to another of her cottages to make our stay possible. 14 steps up fairly steep stairs lead to a unique 2nd-floor space for two. (A fold-out cot accommodated an overnight guest, but it was a tight fit.) This attic apartment has a window on each side of the house, and rooms organized in the shape of a cross: the kitchen and eating area at the long end, a large bedroom at the other, a bathroom in the dormer on one side, and a sitting-room in the dormer on the other. The location is remarkable: the downtown is within several blocks; the Community Building where we saw a number of shows is less than a block away; a stroll each day to the wonderful boardwalk is a good stretch of the legs; nearby church bells toll noon each day. Mount Dora is an excellent place to escape a Canadian winter, and this quaint pine-floored apartment served us well.
Very charming place and it was very clean and everything was perfect except there’s no way to have the bathroom light on without the fan which is kind of noisy so our only suggestion would be a separate light in the bathroom that does not require the loud fan running.
Loved staying in the place was very nice. Everything very very clean. Excellent location for downtown. Could walk and not use your vehicle. The host was very helpful.
I recommend highly this place.
Absolutely perfect location. Close enough to walk to downtown but far enough away to rest on a quiet street. Rode my bike 1 mile to get to the mountain bike trail every day so it was perfect for me. Just like Mount Dora, expect a quaint and historic stay but had all the needed amenities and was extremely comfortable. Looking forward to going back and the host Maria was super sweet!
Property was nice, very peaceful. Walking distance to downtown, shower was a little small and it was hot when we first arrived. But overall, it was nice.
