"Newer and larger building compared to the Queenstown location we stayed at! Really comfy mattresses and the rooms had a mini fridge and plenty of hooks and hangers. The kitchen was very large and the hostel was very clean. Walls are a bit then but no issues with ear plugs!"

Great position and stunning views
"Beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony. Motel style with bar and restaurant. Room was nice, reception area had an awful smell, not sure what is was, possibly the carpet. However, we were not staying in reception! So overall a nice property."

"This was a lovely place to stay. Really appreciated the fireplace being on when we arrived. The room was well laid out and very clean. Only complaint was the scaffolding around the place (was not noisy though)."

Staying in the village was definitely the way to go when visiting Mt Cook. The alternative was to stay in Twizel, which is 60kms away. We were here the only day it was clear sunny skies, the only day in over two weeks.

Heavy rains, thundershower when we were visiting there so we never saw Mt. Cook!

We went in early April and did the Ball Hut hike. Well worth the 6 hr round trip to the bottom of Tasman Glacier right below the mountain
