The Neighborhood:
Mt. Carmel Motel and RV is located along scenic Highway 89 in the peaceful community of Mount Carmel in southern Utah, 20 minutes from Kanab, Utah. It's also just 20 minutes from Zion National Park and a little over an hour from Bryce Canyon National Park.

There's plenty to do with state and national parks nearby, but if you're looking for something more low-key for a day or two, consider the local hikes featured on the flyers in our house book: Squaw, Bunting and K-hill, all offering wonderful views. As well, Jacob Hamblin park has a playground, field, pool with slides, splash pad, and tennis/pickleball courts; Kanab City Library is nearby and often has books for sale; Ranchos Park has great baseball fields; Best Friends Animal Sanctuary has great guided tours (they welcome donations). Also consider the local restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops. We love some of the local tour companies; they can make your travel time far more productive and enjoyable. Many of them even offer early morning pick-ups from Kanab.

Getting Around:
Kanab, UT is 20 minutes away. Page, AZ airport is 1.5 hours away; St. George, UT airport is 2 hours away; Las Vegas airport is 3.5 hours away. Get around in town mostly via vehicle.

Mount Carmel is in the "Grand Circle" area, centrally located among Zion National Park (13 miles), Bryce Canyon National Park (59 miles), the Grand Canyon (North Rim - 98 miles). You can also visit Pipe Springs National Monument (38 miles), the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (33 miles), Vermilion Cliffs National Monument (61 miles), Coral Pink Sand Dunes (15 miles), Kodachrome Basin (76 miles), Lake Powell/Glen Canyon Recreation Area (90 miles), the "Wave"/Paria Wilderness (66 miles), Horseshoe Bend (94 miles), Cedar Breaks National Monument (48 miles) and so much more. Please note mileage is approximate and may vary by a few miles.

Other Things to Note:
We have been a family operation for nearly 40 years. We also live and work on a farm and ranch near our motel that has been in the family for 4 generations. We love being able to meet wonderful people from all over the world and provide them an affordable, memorable experience in our unique farm town setting as they visit our nearby national parks. We would love to host you and your family next time you visit the area!

This cozy room is located 20 minutes away from Kanab. Kanab is known as the "Hub of the Parks', and is the gateway to three national parks, Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon North Rim. Enjoy your dream vacation in Kanab, also known as "Little Hollywood"! Dozens of Western movies were made here and every August, we have Western Legends, where you can meet some of your favorite old stars. It also features the High Noon Parade (with Longhorn cattle), Country Battle USA (great music!), Cowboy Poetry, a terrific vendor fair, a rodeo, and much more - not to mention yummy food. Please come, bring the family, a few great friends, have wonderful adventures and build some lasting memories!

Great location!
I think this is about as close as you can get to Zion on the East side of the park, I I definitely prefer to the closest areas south of the canyon, which are busy, expensive and very touristy. Room was great, had everything we needed, My only critique is that hanging barn doors look nice, but don't make good bathroom doors because you want to contain sounds and smells within the bathroom, and they don't do that well(big chain hotels have started doing this too and I am not a fan). Regardless, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as a great base for exploring Zion and Bryce.
