The apartment was tidy, well decorated, carefully upgraded and quaint. The antique appliances stole. my. heart. They took me right backbit my great-grandmother’s kitchen. I loved this added touch. The bathroom was also uniquely designed. Amazing water pressure.
The apartment was a bit musty smelling, but there were two adequate AC units that helped. There was also a lovely window in the bathroom that opened to help with ventilation after showering.
The small couch is advertised to be able to sleep 1, but was extremely uncomfortable even for sitting/lounging. Overall, this was NOT enough to score poorly in my rating.
Darryl/Durenda were quick to reply and very communicative.
The only thing I can say that would be helpful for future guests, is maybe a book w/recommendations of local places to see and maybe some puzzles for quiet PM.
For the town (these comments have no bearing on the hosts, whatsoever): Although we were in town for the beginning of Mayberry Days, we found the town itself to be lacking in activities that they boasted. The Mayberry-esque atmosphere of rolling up the sidewalks was true. You’re out of luck if you’re hoping for any activities after 7p. If you’re coming for Mayberry Days in the future, really investigate the appearances/activities.
We traveled the short distance to Pilot Mountain and LOVED that. Mabry Mill, located in Meadows of Dan, VA is also absolutely worth the trip and well within driving distance to enjoy from this apartment.
