Good, a little unexpected
The cottage looks as pictured. The two main bedrooms are upstairs and the one bathroom is downstairs which is a bit tricky to find in the middle of the night. Neighborhood is exceptionally quiet and dark at night. Not sure where the beach and boat ramp are. Fireplace heater is lovely. BYO coffee -- no pods provided for even the first day.

Cute and Comfortable
We had a nice stay at the cottage - it was cute and comfortable. Due to a rainy week, we didn't get to enjoy the beach or fire pit until our last day, but what nice little perks. We never figured out the beach pass situation, though. We went to the HOA office but they were closed. There is no laundry onsite despite the listing saying there is. While there are a lot of amenities included, especially for dog parents (which we aren't), there are no cooking items like oils, spices, etc. Most houses I've rented have had basics. Bring extra hand towels - it was a damp house so the towels don't dry out between uses. We ended up buying some towels form the dollar store. Also no dust pan, so we just kept sweeping the sand into a corner all week. The biggest issue we had with the house was our inoperable bathroom sink. Monday morning I notified them and they didn't fix it until Thursday despite multiple messages to the management. 4 days without a bathroom sink. We also realized on the last day there that there are some beach items to use in the closet downstairs, but when we checked in and peeked in, it was so messy and disorganized, we didn't think the closet was meant for guests so we basically left it alone. The property itself is fantastic and quiet - great fire pit, and i loved the adirondack chairs on the patio.

No beach parking pass provided
Floors were dirty and clumps of dog hair everywhere. Couch needs to be replaced and chairs not too comfortable. Advertised as community beach and town landing boat launch but no parking passes provided. Very quiet at night for a nice fire pit but gun range made days noisy. Everything needed was provided except kitchen oils/spices/tin foil but a very cute place with plenty of parking. Cable tv had plenty of channels and gas fireplace, also nice Weber gas grill. Nice porch with picnic table and fire pit with nice Adirondack chairs.

Comfortable and pleasant
The house was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation home and had everything we needed during our stay. The one thing that we could have used was kitchen towels but we made do with the paper towels provided.

Great family retreat
A beautiful location and lovely place. Decorated well and very clean. The kitchen had all we needed. The beds and other furniture were comfortable. We did have challenges with boat parking at the boat launch which took a lot of time to figure out what was and was not included. And, while the place is air conditioned, the only units are upstairs and it was hard to keep the downstairs cool, including the one bedroom on the first floor.

Great Weekend Away
It was absolutely silent upon our arrival- completely absent of human-made noise. It was wonderful. The cottage was immaculate and well outfitted. There are good dining options nearby, and Gunstock mountain only 40 minutes away.

Customer service was absolutely terrible
We got to the house at 11 had no problem getting the house key out of the lock box. The key itself would not open the door. We tried everything. Wiggling it pulling on the door it would not turn. Immediately called the 1 800 number. Got someone who told me it was the correct key. Told them it would not open the door. We had driven 4 hours to get there. They said they would call someone local and call me right back. They never called back. Half hour later I called again got someone else. Told that person the same story. They said they would check into what was going on and call me back. Never called back. Waited anoth half hour called again. Talked to a women named Christine. Told her the story again. They just kept telling me it was the correct key like we were morons that can’t put a key in a door and open it. This women actually did call us back about a half hour later to tell me they weren’t sure what they could do for us there was nobody available in our area. We asked them to call the cleaning staff since they are obviously the ones who left the key and maybe they had another one. This was now near 2 in the morning. They said no one was going to answer the call that late. We were looking at having to drive back home 4 hours away very tired. She finally said they could call a locksmith. They found one about an hour away. He showed up about 2:30. He tried the key and said it wasn’t the right key for the lock. He ended up having to drill out the lock and put a new one in. Took him only about a half hour but now it was 3 in the morning. By the time we got our stuff out of the car and our two dogs. We got to bed at 4 in the morning. We had gone there to look at some properties we were going to an open house the next morning between 10 and 11:30. We could not get up and get ready to make it we slept to late since didn’t get in bed until 4. I do not understand wht the locksmith was not called at 11 when we first called. They kept just telling us it was the correct key. If they had negative stars for this company that is what I would have rated them.

Great Getaway Cottage
Loved the fire pit! We barbecued and ate dinner outside in the picnic table many nights. The cottage is in a quiet location….our group saw many deer including babies wondering around. House was very clean and had all necessary amenities. Easy access off major roads. Very short drive to lake beach with easy access to parking and boat ramp.
