"Everything about our stay was perfect. We were there for 6 nights with friends. Very well stocked for meal making after market shopping. Location was great for day trips to all the surrounding sights. Les Baux, Camargue, Remy, Arles and Pont du Gard. We loved the small village of Fontvielle for sitting in the square for ice creaM, wine and pizza! The host was amazing and just the right amount of attentive and responsive. "The host, Jean Claude was extremely welcoming and friendly. Jean Claude was very patient and spoke enough English to fill in the gaps in my French! Gave us a tour of the house and explained things clearly about waste and recycling collections, WiFi, when he would be attending to the pool. Etc. The house was clean, spacious and had its own charm & personality. Coffee maker, big fridge-freezer, the washing machine & drying rack made quick work of our washing, A/C, a big TV to watch the Olympics. Dinner times were great, large table inside and outside. All the cookware & utensils you could need. Great gas BBQ outside too! There was enough room to keep our two cars off the road. We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was excellent throughout the stay. Very clear and clean. The pool was perfect for the younger children (4 & 6) as there is a small ledge that runs all the way around the pool and wide steps at one end. The area is exceptional, Fontvieille is a lovely small town. The Velorail was great fun for the kids. Arles is nearby with its fantastic Roman architecture, Saint Remy is bursting with life and is a great spot for dinner. Les Baux-de-Provence is very picturesque. Pont du Gard is always a favourite for us (take some swimwear!). If you want some beach time, Saintes Maries de la mer is the place to go. Don't miss the amazing fort town of Aigues Mortes too! All in all a fantastic holiday and we would simply love to stay in this house again! Thank you"

"Stunning location and property had a rustic charm to it. There are plenty of places to visit with great restaurants and cafes. Beaches were fabulous, as were many other places that we found or that were recommended to us. Could’ve benefited from a 3rd toilet and shower at the poolside, but we managed without. Overall, fantastic property and facilities. "

"There was one downside of this place - the creeping service fees which are not declared on the Vrbo profile. The website announces that bedding is provided, but then the owner writes to you to ask for €10 per person for sheets and towels. On arrival, you are told to use a screwdriver to clean the shower drains of hair before you leave. Then on departure, with minutes to spare, you are told to clean the whole place yourself or pay another €50. It’s not unusual to ask for a cleaning fee, but it’s normally listed upfront in the price, so the profile is inaccurate and misleading. After you book, the landlady sends a long contract, which may contain some of this information, but this is of no help to someone with limited French and English, and you see that info after you have made the booking. Otherwise, It’s a very nice converted stone building in the backyard of the very friendly landlady’s own house. There is off-street parking, a local supermarket with a butcher’s stand across the street and a bakery within a walking distance. The house is comfortable, effectively on three levels with the top two contained within the same space (think American bar with an internal balcony from the westerns). The ladder to the top level is very steep, so there are two double beds that are out of reach to small children or older people. The town is conveniently placed near Nîmes, Arles and Avignon."
