"We stopped for one night on our way back to the UK. Langeais is a very pretty small town on the Loire with a beautiful Chateau in the centre. La Fleur de Lys is a small hotel right in the centre. Our room was good sized, well equipped and very clean. It also had the facility to make hot drinks in the room - which is not always the case in France. "A beautiful house; we stayed in rooms that were grand in scale but also cosy and welcoming. The interiors and garden are wonderfully presented. The garden is a sublime haven enclosed within the walled courtyard. Stanislas is a fabulous host and breakfast was perfect. Highly recommended."

"Nothing like the pictures when we booked. Very shabby accommodation. One indoor very crowded pool and No facilities on site, you have to go int Saumur which is a lovely city. You have to pay extra for bedding . Beds uncomfortable and furniture all very old. Definitely not worth the money. "

"A fascinating property with a history. Fabulous views of the chateau from the bedroom windows and from the courtyard. Right in the centre of Saumur, but had a large heated indoor swimming pool. The extra treat was the pool table and pinball machine. It was easy enough to reverse the cars into the courtyard with practice. It was lovely and convenient for restaurants, the chateau and the bakery. Gilles, our host was at the end of a phone if we needed him. Nicole the housekeeper made us welcome...
