"Expedia's property address was for a business office, which didn't have any nearby parking, and it was closed when we arrived. There was a sign on the door in Italian, which we do not speak, and a telephone number. A kind young woman used her cellphone to call the number and talked to the manager, who did not speak English. We waited about ten minutes for someone to show up and walk us to the B & B, about three blocks away. Once in our room we had to make our own way back to where we had left...

"Emergenza incendi in Sicilia. Comunichiamo a Expedia e al titolare che non possiamo andare, chiedendo il rimborso o almeno lo spostamento della prenotazione. Ci viene negata. La prenotazione era in modalità non rimborsabile, dunque era legittima facoltà del titolare tenersi i soldi già incassati e respingere la richiesta. Ma in tanti anni che viaggio in giro per la Sicilia e per il mondo non mi era MAI capitato un gestore che a fronte di una grave emergenza non venisse incontro al cliente....

"The room is very close to Reggio di Calabria Lido train station (not Centrale), and to the museum, the lungomare, and Corso Garibaldi. It is a great base for a visit to RC. "Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Well located for ferry port and train station, with tram to both for the less energetic. I checked in late Sunday afternoon which meant reception was not staffed, but intercom provided all information to get in and access key card. Very comfortable bed and perfect pillows. Shower was small, but then I'm quite large! Water temperature regulation was very sensitive. Overall a good stop over"

"We loved our stay at Villa Margherita from beginning to end. The on-site caretaker, Natale, was as helpful and generous as the other reviews captured, without being intrusive in the slightest. We used the pool daily, walked down into town for pastries and shopping, and were even treated to a pasta-making class by Chef Nanni, who lives up the hill. And those views! You build your day around sunrise and sunset because you don't want to miss them."
