"Quiet calm and relaxing"

"We booked the deluxe bedroom with kitchen for one night. Our stay was wonderful. The bedroom is very spacious, the bed is comfortable and the details in the room are great. Florian and Claire (the owners) have definitely given attention to details. The breakfast was very nice. We had bread, croissants, homemade jam, homemade yogurts, etc. The property is wonderful. There is a small lake and many animals such as goats, pigs, chickens, etc. This place is absolutely wonderful. We wish we had booked for more than one night. We recommend this amazing place. "

"What an amazing tranquil place run by the loveliest family. If you are looking for an incredibly comfortable, quiet location in which to step out of the rat race, then this is it.Convenient for Cognac. Nothing is too much bother and the hosts make you feel like a real family guest. Great food if you request dinner. Incredible value."

"We stayed here for two nights, the room and bathroom were superb, facilities were excellent and just a short drive to Cognac. Very quiet at night, we enjoyed a very good nights sleep. Beautiful surroundings, well worth a visit. The owners were very helpful and friendly, helping with restaurant bookings and local information. Parking is available on site. "

"We stayed for a night. The exterior looks a bit rundown but the apartments are great. Everything works, it’s well equipped and clean. There’s also an elevator which is a major plus. Daily continental breakfast for 11 euros - honestly it’s too expensive for what they serve. You have to bring down your trash upon check out and clean the kitchen if you used it. Overall a nice stay."

"Loved the outside area, pool is lovely and welcome with the heat in our 2nd week (~38C). Eating outside, under the cover of the wisteria plant was also a pleasure to avoid the sun. House is nice, particularly eating and living areas although the kitchen could be equipped better (utensils, mugs etc), but we managed ok. The house is old, but is in keeping with the other buildings in the area. However there are elements of the house that would benefit from being updated, e.g shelving in bathrooms, which are a little unattractive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there, making the most of the pool and appreciating the peaceful surroundings. There was no TV, which we somehow overlooked in the description, but the children (15, 13 & 11) were more disappointed in the speed of the internet. This is a rural location so no fibre connectivity for internet available - mostly ok for email/text messages, but not so good for children wanting to play internet-connected games. We found 4G mobile connectivity to be faster and used that some of the time. The area was nice, with lovely beaches around 30 minutes away, a pleasant local town (Gemozac) with a lovely restaurant (La Florentine) and other areas of interest locally and further afield. The host was good - responded quickly to a couple of small issues we had. I've given 3 stars overall as 4 feels a little high, however, I would probably rate the overall experience as 3.5 stars if I were able to."
