Rothbury is set along the River Coquet where you can fish for salmon and trout. The golf course is just over the bridge should you be a keen golfer. A few miles drive will take you over to Alnwick, home to the Duke of Northumberland where he resides in the famous castle which is open to the public and was used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes.
