"My only regret is that we didn't plan a longer stay! This Chateau and the grounds are stunning. The resident manager, Pascale, was delightful, helpful and it was so pleasant to chat with her during our stay. She recommended a lovely restaurant in a nearby town and arranged reservations for us on a busy Friday night. Made to order breakfast, extensive honor bar with drinks and snacks, beautiful suite and common areas and very reasonable pricing; you can't go wrong with Chateau La Remetiere!"

"Quiet area. Easy access to St Lô. Old building. Polystyrene ceiling tiles in bedroom.Fire hazard? Very comfy bed. Very steep, dangerous stairs to room. Owner very nice but did ask for payment again even though we pre-paid. Basic continental breakfast but only 3 euros each.Overall, for a one night stopover after a 9 hour drive,it did the job."

"We stayed with Jenny and Chris en route from Spain to the UK. Being ex-military I have always been absorbed with the 2 world wars. For several years we have toured the Somme and Ypres but this year we wanted to tour the Normandy landing beaches. What a gem of a find for accommodation. Jenny and Chris live in a beautiful, characteristic farm house, it ouses the charm of its hosts. Their house is out in the wonderful French countryside but is within striking distance of all of the D Day...
