We booked through Expedia and was told they sent us a text message the day before to confirm our booking, which was never received, and because the hotel did receive a text back our booking had been cancelled. I believe the terms and conditions of booking with Expedia is that if you don’t cancel in allocation time period you are charged if you don’t show, I have never had to do this with any other Expedia booking. Reception was very rude when we were checked in, and we were told they needed to re-enter our booking. We were then put in a disable room, not what we book, the room smelt really musty, the pool hours were sunrise to sunset which was disappointing as it had been a 42degree day. As we were getting ready to leave, the house keeper entered our room before we were fully vacated and started turning over the room, it was not even 9am
