To the surrounding area
We would be happy to send you the following information with pictures as a brochure. These are also available in the apartment.
Our beautiful community of Moormerland is located in the triangle between Emden, Leer and Aurich. Typical for the Moormerland Fehn landscape are idyllic canals, cradles, bascule bridges, lush greenery, grazing cows and wide bicycle and hiking trails as well as specially signposted "Fehn routes".
A technical highlight is the Emssperrwerk in Gandersum. Cruise ships from the Meyer shipyard, such as AIDA, reach the great North Sea via the Emss barrage and can be admired up close. Moormerland also has a lot to offer culturally. For example, the gallery Dutch windmills in Neermoor or the thatched “Heitens Huus” in Warsingsfehn, in which the times of peat mining, agriculture, etc. can be relived.
The leaning tower of Suurhusen has surpassed that of Pisa and historical cemeteries, such as in Ayenwolde, remind of the time of the chiefs like Wiard von Oldersum from around 1450.
For Oldersum there is an exploration tour from the water where the museum "Alte Seilerei", the lock, the scoop, the old scales, the park and the old apple orchard can be discovered.
A ferry trip to the beautiful fishing village of Ditzum with real fishermen is also a particularly nice experience.
The historic old town of Leer is about 10 km away and from Emden (20 km) you can visit the East Frisian island of Borkum by ferry.
The beautiful port city of Leer offers many cultural events such as concerts or East Frisian crime fiction readings on ships. But also the little Oldersum, for example, offers events with its own charm, such as the Oldersum autumn with crime thriller reading, the plaice days in Hafenstrasse (every two years in May) or the apple festival (every third weekend in September), which tries out old varieties that have long been lost may be.
To the village of Neermoor
A kiosk, an ice cream parlor, a pizzeria, a restaurant, a pharmacy, physiotherapy and doctor's surgeries, a hairdresser, a butcher, a bakery, a grocery store, a beautiful mill and a very nice, free bathing lake are all 300 to 800 meters away , Beautiful Hammrich paths, cow pastures and lakes invite you to go for a walk and pause.
For traffic connections
Neermoor has its own motorway exit and is also very well connected to the bus traffic, so that there is a direct connection to Aurich with the 481 and an hourly connection between Leer and Emden with the 621. The beach in Norddeich-Mole, where all the jetties for the other East Frisian islands are located, can be easily reached by train if necessary, which runs directly through Leer and Emden to the quay.
