"Having read some scary reviews, we were a little worried - but it was not at all Fawlty Towers. The building itself is magnificent - it's definitely the tallest room I've ever slept in. The roses in the walkway - such a scent. The gardens have a well-tended, shabby-chic feel where you can see the grandeur of the original planting being colonised by nature. "This was hands down the best hotel experience we have ever had. It was beautiful, comfortable and quiet. The setting was unparalleled. The service was impeccable. If you are in this area of France you must check this place out!! The gardens were breathtaking. The peacocks were beautiful and friendly. They liked to talk. The restaurant was delicious and the setting was magical."

"Amazing value for money and location. Really well equipped apartments, spacious balcony and comfy beds. Kitchen didn't have any spare space for storing shopping to make the most of the self catering aspect, but we worked around it. Our apartment overlooked the car park but in fact, it was really quiet, not overlooked by other guests and our balcony had a grear view of the fortress."
