Perfect property by the river
We have stayed in many French properties and this one is unique. Very well equipped, very clean, and the large wood burner kept the whole house warm in late October. Unlimited logs supplied and a lovely bottle of bubbly on arrival. Host met us on arrival and was very reassuring as there was severe flooding the week we arrived. We spotted deer in the fields as well as kingfishers, cormorants and a large heron. Unfortunately no fishing as the river was very high and very fast. Incredible chateaus are easy to get to - Chateau D’usse and Chenonceaux. Chinon worth a visit as well as local markets. Lovely 15 minute walk from the property to the gate through the cyclamen covered private woods. Would love to come back

Wonderful Stay
A fantastic week in Monts. The Moulin was ideal: tranquil river location, which was perfect for swimming kayaking and paddle boarding on the river. The children has an amazing time. Add to that the swimming pool, table tennis and table football and they had so much to do! Guests should be aware the stairs in the moulin are very steep - entirely manageable, but steep! The only other point to note is the oven is limited, so Cooking plans are best made around gas hob options. In summary, a great spot supported by a welcoming and very helpful host, Anne.

Relaxing week by the water
We loved our very relaxing week at the Moulin. We didn't do much apart from paddling in the river on the canoe, playing in the pool and resting on the terrace. The cottage is well equipped and very spacious. We also loved meeting the resident animals.

Moulin in a beautiful location
Lovely property, beautifully located on the river. It is well equipped, with everything that we needed. The rooms are spacious, particularly the master-bedroom. It was lovely to sit on the decking in the evening, watching the sun over the water. The only slight downside was mosquitos - we needed lots of bug spray to keep them away.

Getting away from it all
So secluded and so quiet, yet near shops for the essentials. Ideally located for cycling, chateaux visiting, wine tasting or just lounging on the terrace, a bit of swimming and a bit of baby-foot (table football).

A very tranquil location
A real wow location, in a characterful old water mill. A wonderful piece of France, with plenty too see, eat and drink within an easy drive along pot-hole free roads. The Domaine de Cande was especially interesting, the location of the Traitor King's (Edward VIII) marriage to Mrs Simpson by a corrupt clergyman in 1937.

Lovely and quit place
The mill is very nice and special, unfortunately the weather was not so good and therefore we had cold in the house. Only one of five electric heater worked in the sleeping room. In the leaving-room you can only heat by makeing a fire in the fireplace and it takes nearly two hours until is getting slightly warmer in this big room. Unfortunately we could not use the extraordinary terrace because of weather terms. I guess summer times it would be a great place to stay. I booked this big hours because there are two bedrooms even we were only in two. So I expect that all 4 beds are ready. Also I expect that there is enough toilet paper,(we stayed 8nights) we hardly could arrange for one day and this in two not in four. Ok now there is enough for the next stay we left one package. I know this are little things but makes a stay much pleasurable.

A fascinating and quirky property
What a situation and what a great conversion to a holiday let. We were greeted by the host, who had already lit the wood burner, this was most welcome as the weather was cold also left us a bottle of fizz. We did find the stairs a little daunting but this was down to the fact we were all in our late 70's early 80's. The main bedroom is vast, triple aspect with great views across the river which is also a bird watchers delight. A great property in an amazing location.

Our 2nd visit this year. Stunning location. The photographs are wonderful but still cannot do it justice. The local town is 10 minutes away. Tours is obly 30 mnutes away but the accomodation feels like it is hours away from civilisation. Mill has everthing you need. Recommend highly

Amazing week at the Moulin
Our family of four finished off a month of travels in Europe with a week at La Breuil and it was perfect. The setting is beautiful and the moulin had everything we needed. Anne responded immediately to any questions. We enjoyed boating on the l’Indre River, exploring nearby towns and chateaux, cooling off in the pool, and eating delicious French cheese and bread! We hope to return to the Loire again and would highly recommend this gem of a place.

Excellent place to stay in a simply beautiful location.
I came with my mother to relax and we certainly did. We saw lots of wildlife and caught plenty of fish. Of the one that got away as well. The local town of monts has a small but servicable supermarket. Tours is a short diatance away. The accomodation was superb. My one slight issue was that the beds in the back room were very old and clearly for children. It did not detract from the trip though. If i return to the loire valley again this is where i would hope to stay again.

Superb
What can I say we absolutely fell in love with this property. The mill is beautifully done in rustic French style, kitchen a bit unconventional but fully functional, took us a few days to work out why everything is elevated! The setting is sublime, just sitting on the veranda looking at the river and wildlife was so relaxing. Fishing proved a challenge but there are plenty swimming by. Private woodland for walks, really very little need to leave. We don’t return to many places but will definitely be going back here.

Peaceful riverside mill
A lovely property with a stunning terrace and river views. On arrival the mill had a welcome log fire lit and this provided sufficient heating throughout our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the beavers and other wildlife and were lucky enough to have warm weather which allowed us to eat outside. The gite is well positioned for visiting the Loire Chateaux and we particularly enjoyed Chinon and Amboise. The canoe and boules provided gave us plenty to do and at no point did we miss having a television.

So lovely we hated leaving!
Le Moulin is absolutely delightful - so much so that we almost hatched a plan to tell nobody about it on our return, so that we could be in with a chance of booking it again! Anne was great to communicate with in booking and arranging our stay, and we were greeted wonderfully by the excellent Madame Trouvé. Once in the Mill, we had a fabulous stay. Everything is there you could need, the living spaces are decorated stylishly but with a really pleasing minimalism. The master bedroom is pretty wonderful, the kitchen area is fun, and the terrace over the river is totally amazing. With water running around the Mill it genuinely is one of the most chilled-out locations you could choose to stay in – and the lack of a TV makes it even better, we played games, read books and even did a puzzle! We particularly appreciated all the kitchen utensils and accessories as we love France loads but as vegetarians usually end up staying in to eat, so cooking in a lovely kitchen like this and eating over the water was wonderful. There's a boat and a kayak so you can take to the water, and a short walk away is the pool and magnificent games room. The pool was lovely, chlorine-free using salt instead, and the ping pong and table football are great. We even managed to get piano practice in for our eldest (with a bit of cajoling). Once we'd left (a little grudgingly) Le Breuil, it has to be said that Monts is a brilliant location. We've visited the Loire Valley before but here, just outside Tours, is an unbeatable base with a ludicrous number of great Chateux and other sites to visit, all within easy reach. If we'd have been staying any longer we could have hired bikes and pretty much managed a second week car-free, as there was is much within easy reach. We usually like to mix it up with our holiday locations but it has to be said this was the best holiday location we've ever experienced (and we've traveled a LOT), so we definitely plan to return to Le Moulin! Thanks Anne, for creating such a wonderful place.

A Beautiful Place to Stay
We stayed at Le Moulin in August 2020 with our two children (aged 15 and 13). The house is fantastic with a stunning view across the river from the deck. The directions to the house are easy to follow and Anne was a wonderful and informative host. There is plenty to do nearby with the two boats and the swimming pool and table tennis are just a short walk away. It’s hard to fault the house and we wouldn’t have changed anything about our stay. We’d certainly like to return in the future and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Anne

Peaceful, clean, inspiring. The best sleep ever, by far. the most quiet and isolated place on the planet for us. The fire, the terrace, the canoe, the chateau, the forest, they are all a part of our lives now. Thank you Anne for restoring this place and allowing us to share this wonder!

A beautifully presented, unique holiday home in a truly idyllic and secluded location,
We were instantly impressed with the Moulin, it is a historic building tastefully restored into a beautiful holiday home, in the most amazing location. The moulin is stocked with everything you need and the attention to detail is evident. The facilities were excellent, from the pool to the games room, all well maintained and very clean. The owners of the estate were so welcoming and wanted to ensure a happy stay. It was a very child welcoming environment. The kayak was used for a trip down the river Indre and safety equipment was provided. The moulin is ideally situated for day trips throughout the Loire Valley, and it’s many beautiful chateaus. The nearest town Tours has a gorgeous old town that is very much worth a visit. We would very much recommend this for a relaxing, family orientated holiday. Just beautiful!

Peaceful, private, idyllic setting — it couldn’t have been more pleasant.
The moulin is a delight, a perfect romantic getaway spot. It’s spacious and well equipped. Listening to the Indre River day and night was both relaxing and invigorating. Though it is tucked away on the grounds of the estate, the moulin is nevertheless very conveniently located for Loire Valley touring. I’d return in a heartbeat.
