About the property
Perfect for enjoying the country high life in a part of mid Wales hallmarked by picturesque countryside and an artisan vibe, this cottage promises a luxurious and relaxing stay. Architect designed and built by local craftsmen using locally quarried stone, estate grown Cedar and re-claimed Welsh slates, the cottage is fully bespoke. Set in the owners' 35 acres of rolling pastureland on a working farm, you can look forward to panoramic views from your wraparound terrace that take in the Welsh mountain of Cadair Berwyn and the Shropshire Hills. Rejuvenate with a dip in the bubbling hot tub, relax in the spa-style bathroom and sauna of the master suite, or whip up lunch on the stone-built pizza oven to savour alfresco. Whilst you probably won't want to leave the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings, if you do, there are beautiful country walks or fine dining in the nearby town of Montgomery to tempt you.
The space
This timber-clad cottage is decorated in a sophisticated style, that wouldn't look out of place in a luxury Whistler ski resort. It's flooded with natural light and the showstopping countryside views are instantly soothing. Throughout, there are special touches including carefully curated artworks, while underfloor heating and excellent WiFi offer those essential creature comforts.
The cottage is set out over two levels. On the upper floor, the star of the show is the wraparound terrace. From here there are panoramic views over the Welsh Mountains and the Shropshire Hills. Plus, there's a secluded area with a six-person hot tub, seating and a lawn. There's also ample parking. A set of steps sweep down to the lower garden where there is a dining area and a stone-built pizza oven to whip up a feast.
Enter the cottage on the upper floor straight into the boot room, where you can kick off muddy shoes and wash your hands after a countryside walk.
Beyond the boot room is the open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The kitchen is equipped with a range oven, large fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, while the dining area has a dining bench and chairs perfectly positioned to take advantage of the views. Meanwhile, the comfortable, restful living area features sofas, a log burner, a Smart TV and bi-folding doors with those gorgeous views again.
There is also a guest WC with a feature copper sink.
There are three bedrooms in total, all with a Smart TV and en-suite facilities.
Two bedrooms are on the upper level. One has a super-king-size bed, a small dressing area and a patio door that opens up to the terrace and lawn area. There is also a bedroom with two single beds and a window looking out over the rolling hills. Both bedrooms have an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower, sink, WC and heated towel rail.
The third bedroom, the master suite, is on the lower floor accessed via a staircase where the wall is made from the bricks of a neighbouring 200-year-old farm building. From the views through the floor-to-ceiling windows and from the bed, to doors which open onto the lower garden, the master suite has an abundance of wow factor. It doesn't stop there. The beautiful spa-style bathroom features a bath, a walk-in shower and twin sinks, while the WC is in a separate room so the zen-like ambience isn't spoilt. In addition, there's a sauna with a therapeutic Himalayan salt wall to enhance your mini spa experience.
There's also a reading area with two comfy chairs, bookshelf and coffee tables. Plus, the added bonus of a room with a wine cooler and drinks station offering herbal teas, Nespresso coffee and mineral water, means there's no need to leave your own little sanctuary.
