Convenient location, spacious
The location of the house is central to downtown. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We had some trouble getting into the house, but the company was quick to help. The house was very spacious with separate rooms for everyone. Thankfully we had brought some bug spray because we had a lot of ants at one point.

Great stay
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was perfect for us. Just minutes to downtown and to the AF base. Plenty of room for 6 adults and a teenager. We had some difficulty getting in at first with the code provided, but management rectified to problem quickly. The house is older and the kitchen could use some updating, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. We would stay again.

Extremely Disappointed
Patriot Family Homes should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of cleanliness of this property and their poor response to me after I reported my concerns. The house was filthy -- hair, urine, and crud in the bathrooms; dirt and trash on the carpeted floors (including an empty vodka bottle), dirty kitchen (including fridge), large cobwebs throughout the house, dust EVERYWHERE, and the absence of advertised amenities (games, ping pong, air hockey... nada). Speaking of amenities, we bought a toaster because the one on site was filthy. And we would not dare cook. The stove burners were covered in burnt food. I took & sent pics + called to make a formal complaint. PFH answering service was kind and prompt, but the response was pathetic. Someone came by the next day (without confirming the time of their arrival) while we were out. This person left a note with a $10 gift card along with fresh towels and sheets. They cleaned nothing! The night of our arrival, we had cleaned a portion of the house so that we could live in it comfortably, and I left the vacuum cleaner in a corner with the wand detached on purpose. When we returned from our outing and entered the home, we saw the linen & note. We also saw the vacuum in the same spot, still full of the dust from when I had vacuumed. PFH refunded the $180 cleaning fee, but what about the hours we spent cleaning a portion of their property & our inability to enjoy the other half of the house? I'll avoid PHF in the future!

DO NOT STAY HERE
Upon arrival the house looked great. After we pulled in we were greeted by the housekeeper who was waiting for the police to arrive to report a robbery that happened on the property. Not the best thing to be greeted by at the home you’ll be spending the next four nights at. The woman outside introduces us to a stray cat that she says lives outside and she feeds so he hangs around there. I love animals but this cat had a huge infected gash with white puss on the side of his head which he proceeded to rub on my legs. After opening the door the house reeked of cat pee and a mold-like smell. It was awful, we instantly were like “how are we going to stay here for four days?!” The person I was traveling with is also immune deficient and this was just totally not an acceptable atmosphere for her to stay in right off the bat. There was also another odor coming from the kitchen so we started looking around and we opened the microwave and there was a bag of old McDonald’s with food in it and it was absolutely disgusting and had the worst odor. The kitchen wasn’t properly cleaned either. It just looked like someone tried to wipe it down very fast. We noticed the house on the inside is much more run down than in the photos. The photos on the website are very misleading, they must be very old or just had a really great photographer. The surfaces in the bedrooms were NOT wiped down, there was dust EVERYWHERE and hair. The doors were rusting and some had literally gaps that were completely open to the outside elements. It was also creating heat inside the house from the outside hot air. One of the couches had stains all over it… very “questionable” stains if you know what I mean. One of the rooms smelled really bad of mold and upon inspection we noticed the closet had a disgusting black looking substance that I’m assuming was mold. There were cracks in the ceiling, the house just looks like it’s falling apart. I don’t think they are taking care of it clearly. We called and explained that we would not be staying there and why, along with photos, to try and get at least ANY of the 1,000 we spent on this place. And their response was “we talked to the housekeeper and she says it’s fine so we will not give you any money back”. We only booked this 2 days prior, because we were fleeing hurricane Ian. They had no compassion. The cat also ran inside as we were leaving so I guess that explains the cat urine smell.

Cute and spacious house
House was very spacious and had a unique layout. Area was close to downtown. Had a play area in the back yard for kids and a ping pong table for the older ones. The house comes with a cat who is very friendly and will run in at every opportunity. Overall great stay just not a real good area or safe area overall.

Lots of space! Charming home. Needs a little TLC
This property was pretty much perfect for our group of 8. We all had our own space to relax, plenty of rooms and beds with a pull out couch in the front! The kitchen and bathrooms could use some TLC and updates. It's an old, charming home but a few minor repairs could really turn this property from a 6-7 to a 10! I was looking forward to spending some time in the outdoor patio area but it was quite dilapidated. There were two doors in the master bedroom that led to the outdoor areas, the framing and door had very large gaps and wood decay so it caused a bit of moisture in the room as well as bugs the opportunity to come in. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, plenty of dishes etc.. again, just in need of some repairs. Caulking around the tub in one of the smaller bathrooms was peeling and had black areas, visible screws on the shower wall, a very unfinished look, the larger bathroom had tiles missing on the shower floor..we covered it with a small towel so no one got a scrape, just really needed some repair and TLC, small things seemed neglected. Beds were amazing!! Super comfortable and clean, good pillows etc. With 2 kids and 2 teens staying with us it would have been nice to have TV's in the bedrooms. There was only one TV in the whole house, in the front room. On a rainy day, it wasn't ideal. It did have Netflix and all the apps so that was nice. Otherwise it really was the perfect house for a large group. A little bit of work and this place could be something special! All in all, We enjoyed our stay.

I wanted to let you know how much we liked 225 N California, the not so little blue house. First, let me say the pictures on the VRBO site were very well done, capturing the attention to detail of the home. We started with a good night's sleep, the beds, pillows and bedding are really comfy and felt like home. We read your "Welcome" book and let me say that you have achieved your goal in providing a home away from home to folks. Everything we needed was provided, from coffee filters to soft sparkling white towels and toiletries. Thanks for having us. Traci Cooper🇺🇸
