A memorable and wonderful experience in Tuscany
It is a very beautiful castle with lovely scenic views. We were there in June. The rooms were very spacious and nice. It is very accessible to other towns in Tuscany. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. The only problem we had was the mosquitoes. We had our windows shut throughout the nights although a few managed to come through..otherwise everything else was great!

It is a very beautiful castle with lovely scenic views. We were there in June. The rooms were very spacious and nice. It is very accessible to other towns in Tuscany. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. The only problem we had was the mosquitoes. Beeindruckendes Gebäude in sehr schöner Lage, aber...
Unsere Wohnung war sehr groß, das Bad sehr klein. Eingerichtet mit sehr schönen alten Möbeln, die Betten aber zT sehr unbequem,.Keine Fliegengitter, aber Stechmückeninvasion. Die Küche war sehr einfach und spärlich ausgestattet, beim Gasherd funktionierten nur 2 Flammen. Der Kühlschrank klein und alt, mit den Aussentemperaturen überfrdert. Im Aussenbereich zu wenig Sitzmöglichkeiten, am Pool zuwenig Liegen oder Liegestühle. Wir würden den Aufenthalt als befriedigend bezeichnen

Das Schloß und die Lage des Schlosses sind sehr beeindruckend, aber es gibt einige Mängel: Unsere Wohnung war sehr groß , das Mobiliar zT sehr alt, die Betten nicht alle begquem, da sie uralte Lattenroste hatten. Es gab keine Fliegengitter, aber unzählige Stechmücken..... Bad sehr klein, die Küche nur schlecht mit Kochutensilien ausgestattet, beim Gasherd funktionierten nur 2 Flammen. Im Aussenbereich fehlten Sitzmöglichkeiten, auch am Pool gab es nicht genügend Liegen. Wir würden den Aufenthalt als befriedigend bezeichnen.

Unieke plek om te verblijven
Het appartement ligt in een kasteel. De kamers zijn super groot en ingericht als een kasteel, er was bijvoorbeeld een hemelbed! De ligging is prima, in de buurt van Florence, San Gimigliano en Volterra. Het zwembad was eenvoudig, maar heerlijk, mooie tuin, prachtig uitzicht en een leuke tafeltennistafel. Het nadeel vonden we dat er geen terras of balkon was, hierdoor zet je veel binnen. Je gaat namelijk niet ontbijten in de openbare kasteeltuin. Een ander nadeel was de douche, deze was klein en werd soms niet warm. Het restaurant is ook een aanrader, heerlijk gegeten voor een redelijke prijs.

Beautiful castle, great view, located near Florence (30 min.), Pisa (1 hour) and Sienna (1 hour). Wifi is restricted to the area near the reception (not in the rooms!), some basic things like a wine opener (yeah, that's a basic thing when you're in Tuscany) were missing in the room.

my name is kaye parker and there was 6 in our party. oh my where to start from the mtime we arrived to the time we left our stay at montegufoni was awesome. the staff alone made the stay wonderful. our rooms were great and comfortable. the grounds were just breat taking, so well kept. we could not have ask for a better place to stay. the one nice thing its only 30 min. from florince for sightseeing, and the train to roam was right there. we would go back to montequfoni in a heartbeat. the last thing is we felt that for the cost of our rooms it maid it very afordable. this place was more than we could have wished for.

I would not stay at this place unless you had a rental car. Dont stay in August all restaurants in near by villages shut because of holidays those are the ones you can walk to.The Restaurant at the Castle has very limited menu choice once you have eaten there two nights you have tried everything.They could improve the situatiuon by renting out bikes or scooters which they dont do I mentioned this to the reception. The Taxi drivers who are local gouge guests if you use them. We wanted to go 5kms to a retaurant for a meal. The Taxi driver wanted to charge us 90 euros because he had to wait for us. This is unacceptable, they need to find a better and more fair way of getting guests to nearby villages. 65 euros to drive into Florence if you use the local taxi drivers. We got a taxi from the Florence railway station to Montifigunni for 47 euros so there is a fair bit of scalping going on be warned

The whole area is beautiful a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. A great place to go to for artists. Also plenty to do and see. Italian people so friendly and helpful. I would recommend Castello Di Montefugoni wholeheartedly and have warm memories of how well we were looked after condsidering that there were 83 people in our wedding party.
