The lady ask to go look at the room so I did it was nothing like the pics . And so cold . So I didn’t like it I said no thx . And said no and left and still got changed for the 2 nights ..
The property seemed to be very old but charming. I imagined a writer from the early 20th century holing up and writing a manuscript there, but without the AC and tv which are both remote controlled by the way. The mattress was a little hard but it wasn't difficult to sleep, maybe because the pillows were so nice. They didn't have a safe deposit box. Its very close to restaurants, bars and clubs. It's also very close to the macroplaza.

Hotel is two blocks away from Santa Lucia. The building is old and unique. I liked it.
Cons:
No shampoo provided and there is no hot water.
Very cheap, but I felt so unsafe, I paid for the night and left.
The staff was rude and unhelpful. The whole place is like a creepy haunted house. I just had to get out of there.
The hotel did not have my reservation and the front desk was not able log in to their system to retrieve it. In either case, my reservation noted that I would pay at the front desk so I did. We booked a double bed and I expected a rollway bed- granted the fine print says not all info about hotel may be complete. The hotel does not offer rollway beds. The hotel charged me extra for the room I finally reserved and I settled for it because it was past midnight. The cab driver warned me that I should not stay at the hotel because it would not be suitable for me and my son. I had no choice at that time. The hotel makes you pay a deposit (cash only) to have control of the AC and the TV. Or the porter could turn on the AC for us if we did not have a cash deposit. We opted to get the AC turned on. The room was dark and humid. The facility smelled bad. The room smelled like smoke. The shower door was cracked. The neighborhood is not family friendly either but the Barrio Antiguo is nearby. I would not use this hotel if I were a single woman. The only positive was that the front desk was open at 3 am. There is no soap in the bathroom but you do have towels. Nothing else. Beds were hard.
The first night we got a room that was too noisy because it was facing the street, we complained and immediately we were moved to a secluded part of the hotel which made our stay really nice.
Thank you very much.

Great staff, disappointing room
Hotel room didn't have basic items like a hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, or towels. In addition to all that, you had to call maintenance to come turn on the AC or to adjust it everytime as they do not give you the remote.
Pros:
-great location
-great value
-friendly staff
-all the necessities
Cons:
-building and room somewhat dilapidated (but clean)
-no windows in my room
-noisy (room had a vent in the door)
-uncomfortable mattress
-The room had AC but the remote control was kept at the front desk. You had to request that they set a temperature.
hotel fundador in monterrey,a worst place to stay!
I never been in a hotel like this, starting with the bad attitude of the morning shift recepcionist or maybe owner, you need to deposit money for the tv control, every time that you go out, you have to leave the key at the front desk, there is not ventilacion in the room,no hot water, and if you complaint they treat you like you are liyng and get mad at you,if you stay on the weekend you will not sleep for the noisy bar located in the center of the hotel.i did not recommend this hotel and I will spread my bad bad experience in this hotel?...maybe don not deserve to name it like that.
Great location for tourists on short visit. Need a place to sleep and shower and be exploring the city in day.
Staff is amazing. Wonderful and patient and very friendly.

Barrio Antiguo
Reserved online and stayed for three nights. Everything is walking distance including the macroplaza, interplaza, museums and you can easily take a boat ride through the paseo de Santa Lucia to the mega-park in Monterrey.
