Important villa vacation notes and additional costs for all the villas in Jamaica are:
1. Grocery/ alcohol – bought at the supermarket by the chef, yourself or both! - Paid in Jamaica
2. Tips to staff – about 10% in the winter season and 15% in the summer season - calculated on the rental – paid in cash to staff in Jamaica when departing the villa.
3. Transportation - We can arrange airport transfers or Driver packages are more economical!
Things you may like to know!
• The villa has a staff of chef, butler, housekeeper, poolman/gardener
• You have your own private swimming pool
• Check in time is generally 3pm, Check out time is 11am
• No other groups will be at this villa – this is private to your group only
• Each bedroom can sleep 2 persons double occupancy.
• The villa has own linens, bath towels, pool towels - you don't need to bring these- but bring your own favorite personal care items such as shampoos, mosquito spray or body lotions etc.
• Extra costs are going to be (a) grocery costs of whatever you or the chef buys at the supermarket (b ) tips to the staff - these 2 items are paid in Jamaica
• Please land at the Montego Bay airport (MBJ airport code)

The chef is available to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner for you - but you are also ok to go to restaurants, or you may be on tour – so this means the chef would skip a meal under your instructions. Just keep in touch with your chef on your schedule.

Please also make sure you ask for the grocery bills so that the chef and the villa leader is on the same page with regards to the grocery costs - bills should be cleared as groceries are purchased, or cleared up at least a day or two before departure. We suggest a budget of about $60-$80 per adult per day, kids are less - for food (We are just giving a wide budget, we don't know what you are going to eat or drink on island - but we don't want you to be caught short while on island either)

Amazing Birthday Vacation Todd Squad
We had an absolutely amazing time in Jaimaca staying at Pharos 7. The Staff were Wonderful, Transportation Service with Ken Smythe provided us with a Great Driver Daniel King. Everyone Treated us well, Oliver, Marvetta and Groundman Dwight, Security Andrew kept us Safe and Comfortable and Marcia cooked Wonderful Authentic Jaimaca Meals. One of the Best Vacations I've been on in Years!! Highly Recommend!!

THE STAFF ARE TRUELY AMAZING!!!
Very much so made our trip amazing. It's sad to here the owners under pay them. If it wasnt for the staff we probably would not have stayed there. The pool area was the dopiest part of the house. The room and living quarters is VERY DATED. Needs to be updated for sure. Overall great experience.

What an incredibly wonderful experience for our 3-generation family of 13 who lived a remarkable week at Pharos-Summertime in Montego Bay! With inial planning starting in 2019 - and COVID-related postponements in between - we finally arrived to our beautiful villa. Great villa with great staff & spectacular views
The staff at this villa was by far the best staff we have experienced of any villa we have stayed. They helped make my Mom's birthday very special. And I have to say the chef at this villa was outstanding. Every meal we had was outstanding. They worked well with us to plan meals and work around our excursions in such a great way. We had a great experience at this villa. Ms. Pat the chef was out of sight and Oliver the butler made sure all of our needs and requests were met! And Ms. Marvette the lead house manager/housekeeper kept impeccable records so we could reconcile the grocery bill and pick up any additional items we needed. This villa was very well maintained and had spectacular views. Also our stay at this villa allowed us access to the exclusive Tryall Beach Resort as well. We would definitely love to go back! My family and I have discussed making this an annual trip at this specific villa! GREAT VACATION!

Great Villa, Great Staff
The villa feels very authentic to Jamaica, and pictures are very close to reality. The staff was incredible, bending over backwards to fulfill our needs. Every one was very polite, accomodating and helpful. The included driver and van made our stay so much more enjoyable as we did not have to worry about transportation. The house itself was very well maintained, cleaned daily and grounds maintained. The only negatives: house desciption and pricing did not list the need to tip, until after the booking was completed were we notified of a rather hefty uptick for staff tips. While they deserve every peny as they work really hard, the salalry and or tips should be listed in the advertisment / booking. Also, most of the rooms do not have glass in the windows, just screens and shutters, thus we've experienced some noisy nights when a bar down the street had a big party, in addition, since the house is older, its not well noise insulated, thus noise from the kitchen and creaking staircase traveled thougout. Lastly, the house is rather far from the beach, with the closest free beach about 20 min away. Negative, they charge $7 per bed and same per umbrella, so it can add up quickly. That siad, asaide from the additional tip costs, i would only subtract .5 point from a score of a 10 for all the other minoute issues.

A time to remember
This was a very beautiful and clean property. Every staff member was as helpful as they could be. We had about 3 main issues which was: My gay brother was called out of his name by staff within a few hours of our arrival (we understand the culture but this was very unprofessional and uncomfortable especially staying for 1 week total). The chef Carl was great with having our meals together on time but didn’t follow directions too well as far as making special accommodations for birthday dinner and cake. The extra funds given to him to make this special was not followed through by him. Lastly, the driver could have had a better attitude and actually took the time to sit down with us to discuss excursions she knew of instead of just throwing out suggestions here and there. Overall the staff was amazing! Marvette was the sweetest and took very good care of us and our laundry! Oliver was always there with whatever we needed before we knew we needed it! He was phenomenal and sang a beautiful HBD song to my friend and I. And Leonard was very helpful with local information and sight seeing around the property. We had a time! And I thank you all so much for this wonderful experience.

Extended family vacation
Even before our arrival, Lisa Clarke (management) was a huge help to me. She assisted me in obtaining permitting to bring my mothers cremated ashes into the country. Thanks again Lisa! The property was as advertised. There were no check in issues as the entire staff was waiting to welcome us on our arrival. The villa is well maintained, spacious and clean. We had 13 members in our group and at no point did I feel crowded or uncomfortable. The pool was awesome and the views were immaculate. Staff: Oliver (the butler) was amazing and connected on a personal level with our group. He is extremely down to earth and personable. Carl (the chef) is a talented cook, he full filled all of our requests. We would give him a menu request and he would go shopping and prepare the meals. I recommend trying the porridge and fresh mangos. Marvette and Neshia (housekeeping staff) did our laundry and kept the place immaculate daily. Security and the gardener were always present. At no point did we feel unsafe. I can't say it enough, the entire staff was so helpful and pleasant. I would recommend utilizing the provided transportation. We had a large group and were provided with a 15 passenger van and driver every day. Our driver was knowledgeable, resourceful and extremely personable. Big shout out to Gene (the driver). If your looking for an experience different from a typical resort, and would really like to see Jamaica, I would absolutely recommend staying at this Pharos Villa.

Our family of 13 can't say enough about our stay August 20-28th 2022. We have traveled a lot through the years and this has got to be the best vacation ever. The staff was excellent Oliver the butler bent over backwards making sure that our needs were met we really enjoyed him singing karaoke with the kids he has a great voice. Carl the chef food selection and variety was superb. Having our meals on the veranda all together was a special treat. Thanks to Marvette and Samantha having fresh linen,beds made laundry done & rooms cleaned every day was a true vacation. Pete the security guard came around several times a day making sure that we were safe and doing OK. AJ came over and apologized that he didn't have a chance to spend time with us he was busy with the landscaping and pool. Sweet young man. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous vacation and we did. We've been home less than a week and are already making plans to return in 2024. A huge thanks to Lisa the property manager for working with us these past three years she was very accommodating when we had to reschedule twice due to Covid. I know that Gene King our driver wasn't part of the staff but the service he provided was priceless. He has the patience of a saint gave us excellent suggestions on activities. Always on time great sense of humor he will definitely be our driver when we return. Your gratuity suggestion on $20 a day is ridiculous!! He deserves so much more and we gave him so much more. My suggestion would be making his tip larger and mandatory therefore built into the contract. A lot of people don't even tip so that means he gets nothing for the week☹️ Looking forward to returning in 2024.

And I can't say enough about the villa staff - Oliver for his tending to everyone's unique desires - from my 5 year old grandniece - to my daughter's 78-year old father (and the rest of us in-between). Gilrs lockdown in Paradise
Dear Lisa, I didn't want another day to go by without letting you know how much my sister-friends and I enjoyed our stay at the Pharos-Summertime villa in Montego Bay August 20-27. I know I can speak for the 10 of us when I say the accommodations were superb, the staff was exceptional and even in the face of a 3-day lockdown, we felt relaxed and refreshed. Clarence's cooking spoiled us! He provided freshness and flavor that we asked for, with a surprise or two thrown in. He never disappointed. Oliver's kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism won our hearts. He was always there to assist us with whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable. Samantha also brought her bright smile and positive attitude with her every day, always available to assist. "The Marvelous Miss Marvette" as we liked to call her, took excellent care of our rooms and kept things extremely clean and neat. Our laundress, Neisha, did an amazing job with our clothing, too! Last but not least, our driver Alicia was THE BEST! When the country was on lockdown and we needed water, Alicia went the extra mile and made it happen for us! From the time we got off the plane, throughout the entire stay, Alicia made sure we had everything we needed. We were able to get massages on the property because of her connections! We had the most wonderful experience with these highly trained professionals! The groundskeepers, Pete and Mikel, shared the bounty of the property with us, too! We fell in love with the fresh lemongrass, which we drank as tea, and the sweetsop that they gave us. It was very nice of the owner, Vern, to call us during the lockdown to check on us. Myself and my sister-friend Leah let him know that things were going well and we were making the best of not being able to leave the property. He offered us a return trip at a discounted price to make up for the inconvenience of the lockdown! That was an unexpected and much-appreciated gesture on his part, and we're already working on our return trip next year! I want to thank you, Lisa, for all your help in making this vacation possible. Pharos-Summertime Villa Review
Review of Pharos-Summertime-Montego Bay 6BR Villa trip from August 9th thru August 16, 2021 by: Author Le'bert Gordon. My family and I reserved the Villa for a 7 night and 8 days stay in order to renew the vows of our magnificent 17-year marriage. Of all the Villas we sought to book, we were drawn to this Villa because of the Old-Modern Style Exquisitely displayed furnishing of the rooms and the majestic scenery we saw overlooking the heart of Montego Bay. But upon arrival, we were blown away by the pure unadulterated homely welcome received by the staff headed by House Manager Ms. Marvette. As we took in a panoramic view of the Villa, it's advertised photos does not do the place the justice it deserves. It is truly a mind-blowing Villa to feast your eyes upon. As we arrived, we saw the immaculately kept grounds by Staff Groundskeeper Mikel. We were first met by our Staff Security Pete whose welcome made us at ease. Our Staff met us at the entrance and their introduction was warn and caring. We unloaded and took in the beautiful décor of well-kept and modest looking furnishings and the view I saw on-line at the point of the Villa was truly breathtaking. The night view at this point is also indescribable and the morning view is just as breathtaking. I would be remised not to speak about how our booking Agent Ms. Lisa Clarke went above and beyond to assist us with getting local businesses to cater our event at a reasonable price and the staff Butler Mr. Oliver who helped me tremendously with getting all my preparations done before my big event. Now, to the entire Staff, on behalf of my wife, family, and friends, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation to you all for providing us with the kind of attentive care which made our stay feel like a family visit. You guys will always be regarded as our extended family, and we so look forward to returning early next year. To our Driver King of Jamaica Villas by Linda Smith, you are the very best at your craft and we truly enjoy our time spent on our excursion trips and you allowing us to know the remarkable young man you are. We would also like to give a special thank you to Villa Owner Mr. Vern Granberg for graciously allowing my wife and I to hold our Vow Renewal Celebration Event at his Villa without any additional cost, to House Head Manager Ms. Marvette for granting her staff the permission to assist with our Event, to Assistant Housekeeper/Laundress Ms. Patricia who attended to our every clothing need; Assistant Chef and Butler Ms. Samantha who, besides performing her duties with exceptional skill and graceful professionalism also found the time to provide my Niece Jurnee with the warn loving care of a mother; and last but not least, our truly outstanding Chef Clarence who made my mouth water each day as I licked my fingers of his deliciously well-prepared meals. Simply gorgeous views from villa
We celebrated my daughters 25th birthday at the villa. Twelve 25 years old in one beautiful villa. The ladies loved the spacious rooms, took a dip in the pool everyday and enjoyed her birthday dinner poolside on a beautifully decorated table.

Our stay was July 10 through July 17. At Pharos Summertime Villa - Montego Bay Jamaica
The staff was terrific. There were 8 staff members supporting our stay. Clarence - Cook = Great talent and ability and a super personality. Very cooperative and helpful. Oliver - Head Butler = Extremely experienced and willing to do anything and everything he could to help us have a delightful stat in Jamaica. Marguette - Housekeeper/Maid = Primarily was the maid and laundress. Her attention to details was great. Cleanliness of the rooms and the house in general was great. Samantha -- Assistant to Oliver = Great personality and very helpful in all duties, helping Oliver and waiting on the guests. My children loved her. Patrice -- Assistant in Housekeeping - We loved her manner, her sweetness and her smile. She did a great jub keeping the cleanliness of the villa excellent. Glen -- Gardener -- the plants, vegetables and trees and flowers and bushes were all in good shape. He stayed busy maintaining the grounds. Pete -- Security = Was very much in site and maintained a safe atmosphere daily. He checked on us daily morning and night. Hot water was not good in the East wing on the 1st floor. The entire house could use some renovation.

I just want to say if I can give this villa a 10 star rating, I definitely would. The time spent in this this villa was not enough. I truly had a memorable time with everyone in this home. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay at this villa one to remember. Special shout out to Oliver, Samantha, Chief Clarence, and King for showing us a GREAT time. These people deserve a raise and we truly appreciate each and everyone of them. I was so sad on the day we had to leave because it felt like we were leaving behind our family. To the staff this is definitely not goodbye, this is see you later. We shall meet again. Thank you Oliver, Samantha, Clarence, Gene, and all of the other staffs! This trip was such a success because you all were amazing and made us comfortable and feel at home away from home! I'm telling everyone to book at Summertime when vacationing in Mobay! Review of Stay 4/19/21-4/23/21
While our stay was enjoyable, the house was nice and staff was friendly, there were quite a few things that could've been done much better. As individuals that have experienced superb service at other villas specifically within Jamaica our expectations were not completely met while at Pharos. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Marvette who was very friendly which we appreciated but we would've liked to be introduced to the entire staff upon arrival so there were no surprises as people walked on the premises unexpected and unannounced. We met Pete when walking around and assumed he was the groundskeeper before being told he was security. Villa security then arrived at the villa during our stay on Wednesday when check-in was on Monday, they also did not come through the front door and somehow thought it was okay to walk through the villa unannounced while 11 women walked around. Clarence was kind but our food was subpar. WE appreciated the modest budget used to purchase groceries but as a staff member, knowing a bit about guests needing snacks, etc. would've been appreciate and listened to so that our menu could've been adjusted accordingly. Oliver was also very friendly but he didn't show up for a few hours after we arrived which didn't set the greatest first impression. The wifi was terrible throughout the stay and considering we are currently living in a virtual space for both work and school this should be looked at. There were college seniors among the group who needed to get work done, there was supervisors, and also entrepreneurs who needed to use the wifi to complete daily tasks but had much trouble doing so. Again, the staff was friendly and it was not as though our stay was terrible but things could've been much better. As a group of young, professional women who travel often, we expected better.
