"Great hotel in Monte Gordo, we had a fabulous stay in a wonderful town with amazing beach and very close to the Spanish border. Staff were grand, we had a very good buffet breakfast, main items to choose from. Very close to beach and shops. If needed there is a 2 1/2 mile walk to the border town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio along a straight road but the beach walk is glorious although twice the distance. Beach is just fantastic. Was a small fishing village before tourism and no natural...

"I liked that the staff spoke English Spanish and Portuguese. We chose this property because we wanted to use the Spa. This feature is in their name. The Spa was closed during the time we were at the hotel. Very disappointing. :-("

"Terribly disappointing hotel. For a 4-star , among the 5 most expensive, the value for money ratio was terrible. In a 2 bedroom suite, the second bed was a fold out, with a ratty mattress. In one-week stay, sheets and towels were changed once, floors cleaned twice. They could not provide me with a water kettle or early coffee (coffee shop opens at nine). "This is a lovely property that is very close to the beach and a 5 min cycle ride to Monte Gordo. There is also a nearby shop attached to a cafe that is perfect for essentials. The beach itself (5 mins walk away) is stunning and seems to go on forever. As is clear from the pictures, decoratively the house is a tad dated inside. For those who don't mind this, however, it offers a perfect Algarve beach house. Although the house has 5 bedrooms, the small living area would make it a bit of a squeeze...
