Beautiful Authentic Stone House In The Lot REDUCED RATE !
It is a beautiful Quercy house in a property on the highest point of the landscape. There are beautiful views everywhere and from the property you can see the big twelfth century dungeon of Montcuq and the distant thirteenth century country house of Lauzerte. You can even, from time to time, see the Pyrenees. There are lots of excellent markets. The local gastronomy is famous and well complimented by the famous Cahors wine. You are five minutes from the village of Montcuq and twenty-five minutes from the city of Cahors. For fun take a kayak on the lot and the cele, the walks are superb and the caves of Pech Merle magnificent, admire the beauty of St Cirq Lapopie and much more. The beautiful light blue salt pool is private. The house is clean, comfortable, very pretty and peaceful.

Disapointing
We stayed at this property for one night. And I wish I hadn't done that. There was mildew on the walls. The furniture on the deck was covered in green mold. One of the deck chairs had been "repaired" with a 7 inch screw with the sharp end pointing into the seat. There was no hot water. The instruction booklet to the place was covered with fly or bug feces. This place was a disaster!

Charmante maison super calme

A perfect holiday
We spent 3 fabulous weeks in this cosy house. Despite the season (we stayed there in octobre) it was warm enough to use the swimming pool or bathe in the little lake nearby. Our Kids loved it there because it has a lovely sandbeach. They also loved playing in the beautiful garden. House, garden and last but not least the owners are very kid-friendly. All of us enjoyed the peace and calm of the place. It caters for every taste: nature lovers will enjoy the beautiful walks, culture& history lovers the many sights (eg. Cahors, Moissac) and wine lovers will appreciate the delicious Malbec wine). At the end of our holiday we all felt like our son who said: "Tell the owners we want to stay here!"...

A piece of paradise atop a hill with fab views
We stayed for five days in February and had the most fantastic time. The house is at the end of a long private drive on top of a hill with stunning views – whether the sun was out or the mist was hiding the woods in the distance. The house is delightful, the upstairs living room and kitchen has a great feeling and great proportions, lots of space and light. We stayed in the large double bedroom downstairs. There are thick walls, honey-coloured stone, beams and most importantly – very snug and warm in the chilly February temperatures. The kitchen has everything you need on holiday (especially a dishwasher), and the peace and stillness was fantastic. The house is about 20m away from the owners’ house, making it private yet at the same time not cutting you off. James and Diana are the perfect hosts, giving us lots of advice about what to do in the area and going out of their way to ensure our stay was as great as possible, which it was. Montcuq is a fun little town to be near, with a market on Sundays and a feeling that you are living the French life. We’ll be back!

A great place to relax and unwind
Thank you so much for such a wonderful 2 weeks. All four of us enjoyed the gite and the pool was top notch. Best wishes to you all.
Whilst a rural idyll, you can enjoy a great walk down into Montcuq for le petit dejeuner and other essentials
