"The house was great, had all the comforts of home, a great yard with fig and peach trees, lots of Rose trees, that we have not seen and we are gardeners, a dock to sit on watch the river Le Loir flow, the host was awesome showed us the ins and out, took us to the local supermarket to stock up for our stay."

"We had a fantastic week staying at the gite. We were a party of 8 and we had plenty of room - having two separate houses also worked really well for us. The pool is lovely - a great size, clean, heated and in a lovely setting. The location is beautiful, in the grounds of the chateau, and we enjoyed eating at the large table outside under the tree. The hosts were very friendly and helpful - thank you! In terms of eating out, we had a really delicious meal at the restaurant Aux Trois Pastoureaux in Chateaudun which is about 20 mins drive away - would highly recommend. All in all we had an amazing week and would love to go back at some point."

"Wifi didn't work in our room. 14 oC this morning, but no heating available. Meal very disappointing. 3 /5 lights didn't work in bedroom. It was tired and needed TLC to improve it. Arrival time was 3 pm, but no one around at 3.30. Then reception closed again until 5 pm, so no help available. We won't be back. "

"We had a fantastic week and Aline was very friendly and accomodating. The house was perfect for our family and the kids loved the pool which is all enclosed for safety. The house had plenty of room for large groups like ours and the supermarket was 5 mins drive up the road which was really handy. There is a great patisere in the local town well worth a visit for some lovely fresh cakes. "

"This property represents value for money, and provides much space for a family of six. The pool, and having a town within walking distance, made for a pleasant stay. The terrace area, and living area, are great spaces, and the views over the town memorable. Whilst the owner was able to respond to requests ie for additional towels it would have been helpful to have some written information about the house such as arrangements for recycling and how to keep the pool clean. We were disappointed to discover the BBQ was dirty, a number of lightbulbs/lamps didn’t work, shower tray wouldn’t drain, and neither shower head would hook independently. Unfortunately the owner was unable to rectify these issues during our stay. The property would certainly benefit from more attention to detail, such as better quality bed linen, and places in which to store/hang clothes (no cupboards, shelves, hanging rails or wardrobes upstairs) as well as addressing the concerns above, to make any stay beyond a couple of nights feel more comfortable."

"We arrived at 3:30pm but couldn’t get into the hotel until 5pm, as the hotel was closed until then. The room was good but no tea / coffee in the room. The reception was very helpful and friendly, but it would have been good to have the menu in English as well as French, as my wife ordered her meal without knowing it included scallops as there was no mention of this on the menu and scallops don’t agree with her, otherwise the meal was very good, as was breakfast."

"Etape Zen is a quaint, quiet and tranquil retreat, and the owners make you feel so welcome. There was plenty of parking space, and a lovely garden. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, and there was enough. The Marcel Proust museum is 2 minutes downte road."
