This place is huge for a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom abode. King George the 1st boasts 12 foot ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, updated kitchen tile and countertops and lots of space! We also have a fire table on the front porch and private outside seating in the back which makes this a great spot to enjoy the beautiful weather in Mobile (at least in the fall, winter and spring).
There are 3 steps to get inside from the front and back, but once inside there aren't any steps at all.
Guest Access:
Easy Access throughout the neighborhood - just use your GPS to get where you need to go. There is 1 spot available at all times for Unit 1 parking (though if the other units aren't booked, more could be available), but street parking is always an option.
The Neighborhood:
Oakleigh Historic District is one of the most sought after areas in Mobile! Such a great convenient and historical location! Walking distance to so many places and just a short drive (1-2 miles or less) to downtown Mobile)
Walking distance to Hummingbird Cafe, Across the street from Washington Square Park, and a couple blocks to the famous Callaghan's Irish Pub!
The best part about this location is MARDI GRAS - from here you're just a short walk away from the parade route!
Callaghan's Irish Pub (best BURGER ever - get the Big Mic), Washington Square Park, the Oakleigh House Museum, Hummingbird Way Oyster Bar, among other great restaurants and local sights are just a short walk from this location! I'm telling you - you won't be disappointed when booking at George!
Getting Around:
Parking for 1 car is available on the property, but street parking is perfectly fine. We'd ask that you'd be respectful of our neighbors and try not to park in front of their houses - especially the Yellow House next door (they rely on street parking for their vehicles)
Other Things to Note:
Please don’t allow pets on the furniture. The neighborhood is wonderful to take your dog with you, but if you must leave your pet - please kennel them in a tiled floor area.
This unit is in a triplex - it has its own entrance and none of the spaces (besides the parking in the back and porch in the front) are shared. If you have more people and would like to book more than one of these units at the same location - contact me and we might be able to work out a better deal for booking more than one unit. (I am not allowed to post a link for the other units here - so message me and I can share the link with you)
Interaction with Guests:
I am here if you need me! I am happy to host and answer any questions you might have!
