"Wonderful hotel, with incredible views and beach access. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Meals were enjoyable. Comfort, design and fixtures and fittings were great. Some maybe need replacement and care. The ownership does seem to take ‘ renovations seriously, so I am sure it will be like new soon."

"Our stay at this hotel began promisingly with a comfortable room, friendly staff, and good food. However, this positive experience took a sharp turn when we returned to find our room door wide open, with all our valuables—electronics, passports, clothing—exposed to anyone who walked by. Given that our room was less than 10 feet from an occupied room and only 50 feet from a restaurant open to the public, this situation was both unsettling and unacceptable. "Loved the location, modern design and beautiful view from the elevated pool terrace. Standard room was nicely decorated, neat and functional but it was very very tiny with no space to move by the bed and no space for a chair and the patio was internal with no view. This was a bit disappointing for the money. Suites looked wonderful though if your budget can stretch to that."

"This hotel did not have card locks it still used keys. the safe was not working properly. i had to use a key instead of a code. my door was left unlocked after it was cleaned."

"Stayed here for a wedding. Our room had an enclosed patio but it opened into a corner during a large street celebration which was quite loud. I would have preferred almost any other room in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and called me when I had left a few things behind. "

"We stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful apartment. It has the perfect location in a nice, quiet residential area that is walking distance to shops/dining and only a few steps to the beach! Host Steven was welcoming and super nice. The apartment was very spacious with great linens/bedding, a nice bathroom and the best shower! We had a nice seating area as well as a small balcony. "We have been following the instagram for a few months before we arrived to SA and were completely sold by the concept. Arriving to Barringtons was we were definitely not let down. We were checked in and taken to our deluxe room with a patio balcony looking down over the garden. The room was spacious, clean, and luxurious. We ate a late lunch at the bar with a few beers by the fire and returned later for some supper and a night cap. Wonderful place!"

"Absolutely fantastic stay with our 1 year old. The location is excellent, nice and secluded surrounded by breathtaking scenery and extensive lawns. Short drive to the local attractions. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more welcoming providing flawless service. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite which is perfect for families for a separate bedroom for children. "

"The property is like stepping into a luxurious game lodge from a bygone age yet you’re only 15 minutes from the town of Plettenberg and about 5 minutes to a wonderful stretch of beach just down the hill. However the facility itself is nearly new so it features all the modern conveniences to be had. Architects and interior designers will be fascinated by the attention to detail that went into the construction of this lodge. The grounds are extensive and include a horse stable and several paths, providing plenty of opportunity to take in some casual exercise in a wonderful secluded environment. The proprietors and staff were incredibly warm and friendly and the advice given made sure we got the most out of our 2 days there. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Crags. "

Great surprise!!

"A wonder surprise to return to a place that has grown into a fabulous stay experience! The Lion Suites are an incredible stay Visited here 10 years ago and did not realize where I was staying! Last minute reservation passing through, fabulous managers and staff and lions roaring to wake you! Great food, definitely bring your kids and take time for tours. Great gift shop and personal service! Thanks for a wonderful visit."
