An awesome experience
My wife and I were very impressed by the Minnehaha Lofts experience. We loved our accommodations and appreciated the communication with the representatives. Overall, a great experience!

Ok, but needs work.
I did like the location, close proximity to downtown Minneapolis. The apartment needs updating and new furniture in the main sitting room. Also, the heat controlled by the renters below made it very hard to control the heat. We had our windows open all weekend to cool down 2nd level apartment.

Nice apartment, terrible customer service
Before arrival received an email with instructions to access the apartment & pay the remaining balance. Given code to the lock box by the front door, upon arrival the code would not unlock the box. Called the number for the "manager", no answer & her mailbox was full, so couldn't leave a message. Then called the number for the property management company and left a message. After about 10 minutes of standing on the front stoop, Kamesha, from Minnehaha Lofts, called. She asked what code I tried, then gave me a completely different code, that actually worked. No, "We're sorry for the inconvenience". For payment they want you to make a deposit to their credit union account in 24 hrs, mail a check, credit card they charge you 3% more. I made deposit to their account. I received a total of 3 reminders, after arrival, to pay them the balance. Apartment is nice, needs new window coverings because no privacy due to missing slats in blinds. Second bedroom is small, had to crawl into bed from foot of bed. Although I liked the apartment I cannot recommend because of experience with management. Received a non-apology "we are sorry you feel that way"

Cozy, comfortable apartment
Friendly service. Really cute apartment. Well decorated, cozy and comfortable. Bed was so comfortable and lots of pillows. It is upstairs so keep that in mind if you gave problems with stairs. I broke my ankle a few weeks before I went and it was tricky getting up and down.they answered any question I had. Would stay here again

Basement Apartment
I stayed in the Economy 1 bedroom apartment. I want to be honest and constructive. The pictures are deceiving. This is a basement apartment with very low ceilings and cramped living quarters. I recommend that the listing be changed to include "basement apartment" or at least "garden apartment" as I'm sure there are travelers who wouldn't mind that it is a converted basement, but someone like me who traveled from the east coast, I didn't. I would've stayed elsewhere. The stairs down to the apartment are creepy, and if I had arrived at night, I'm not sure I would have descended them. Once inside however, the small space does lend itself to a safe underground feeling. I had no problem with bugs, but I didn't visit in the summer. I will say that the shower was awful. The drain was loose and the curtains hugged me, literally. A big plus was that there is a washer and dryer! A big minus is that there is a piano, upstairs, so if the apartment above you is rented, people playing it will disturb you, along with their heavy walking. On the plus side, the service was great, the manager took time to recommend places to eat, between the airport and the apartment.

Comfortable house apartment south of downtown
Trouble w/lockbox, better exterior lighting could have helped as I arrived after dark, apt was clean + met expectations, WD a surprise but didn't use, great WiFi/cable TV, and location was exactly where I wanted to be near parks, lakes and walking was safe in the neighborhood. Lots of steps/stairs so physically challenged beware when lugging suitcase. I did not cook but enjoyed local shopping and restaurants.

Great place to stay!
Our stay was excellent. The place was wonderful and very enjoying. We loved the private patio and large comfortable bedroom. My only knocks are the key box didnt work, and the stairs to the apartment #2 were steep and narrow. The cleaning gal was very nice and accomadating. We would definitely stay here again. Nice, quiet comfortable and private place.

The photos and description of the unit are not what you get with this rental. It is not close to the lightrail and the area is not particularly nice or safe (a neighbor warned us that cars get broken into alot on the street). This UNIT is a basement that is damp with only 5'9" ceiling height. The bed is a double (NOT KING) bed and the sofa is not a true pull out. It violates multiple building and safety codes. The playset in the yard is infested with spiders.

Close to things and beautifully furnished
This is a beautifully furnished two bedroom apartment close to downtown and other local attractions. It's in a quiet neighborhood, and offers a nice deck and backyard play set for kids to enjoy. The local property manager is great about bringing anything you need, such as paper products, towels/washclothes, etc. There is a nice set of laundry machines in the bathroom for your use, and excellent wifi. After reading other reviews, we realized that most of the issues people had were because they didn't call or ask about things, so we made sure to call and ask about anything we weren't sure about - such as how to make the couch into a pull out bed :) There are a few things that will need attention by the management when they can get to it such as fixing the dishwasher, fixing one window AC unit, and some water issues when it rains particularly hard (only happened once during our stay and it rained several times). I'm sure that they will take care of it when they can. Well stocked kitchen, includes stove, microwave, full fridge, and a nice coffee maker and toaster. Friendly, helpful staff when we needed anything. If you want to ride bikes during your stay, inspect and try them out before committing. We opted to use the NiceRide green city bikes instead. We would definitely recommend this place, especially for a family that would find a normal hotel too small and cramped. We enjoyed our stay and had a ton of fun in the Twin Cities.

Cozy Charm
Cozy cute two bedroom with kitchen,dining room & living room. Enjoyed the interior space. Loved the deck! Wished they had an option to buy firewood to use the fire pit in the backyard. Great location! We found a great place to have dinner & a drink within two blocks. Chatter Box. Excellent selection of beverages & fun games!

Basement Apartment
Room was updated and has many amenities. I was a little surprised to find out we were staying in the basement of a house that was converted into an "apartment". Not that it was the owners fault but we had someone else staying above us with an active child that spent much of the early mornings running around creating a lot of noise. The owners were very helpful with local recommendations that did not disappoint. We did notice a rather foul odor in the bathroom that ended up being two dead mice on a glue trap under the vanity. Anyone taller than 6' will experience issues due to the ceiling height.

Bugs everywhere. Was listed as a two bedroom and was not. Shower had a curtain that covered a smaller area than the shower itself and barely had room to move around as the curtain was almost against our bodies the whole time. No tub for kids. Breakable decor all around (guitar on floor, etc). Was nice that it had a washer and dryer but that was basically the only perk about it.

Hot, bugs and filth
So this was my experience last night: Hopefully by now you've heard of the terrible experience I've had… And I keeps getting worse. After arriving yesterday with no AC (knowing it was 90+degrees on Friday), an unclean space, weird leak above the toilet that drips some golden fluid (hopefully not urine from the upstairs people) and no xtra bed in the living room or blankets...then this happens: So Melissa said the AC in the back bedroom wasn't all the way in the window but would work for now...well I came back to go to bed after a long day and there are 3 of those large flying Beattle things that go hide and get silent when I turn on the light...watched one come in from the window while laying in bed to sleep...tried killing them in various ways but they dive bombed my head...in a frenzy, and while trying to protect myself, I ran into the hard bed frame stubbing my toe (hopefully not broke) and banging my knee so hard surprised I can walk... In terrible pain, I just laid there with the light on trying to recover and heard no flying beetle sounds...so ok so I figured, I'll sleep with the light on...not a good idea cause now bunch of the mosquitos and moths came in...now I'm sitting in the kitchen listening to the beattle bugs fly all around where I'm supposed to be sleeping and getting bit by the mosquitos... and just when I think this place could not get worse...in come the bugs! I have 2 more nights here and I really am scared to Think; of what could be next...Well what's

Unsafe place to stay!
I drank a bottle of water provided to me by Minnehaha Lofts which had some kind of unidentified chemical in it! I vomited several times and was sick for an entire day. Hotel management did not take my report of the incident seriously, initially claiming they were going to hire a private investigator and send the remaining water that I did not drink to a testing lab, which they did not do, did not apologize, and refused to acknowledge that the event occurred. The bottle had been tampered with in such a way that I could not tell it had been previously opened. Their treatment of the incident shows the true nature of management at Minnehaha Lofts. Disrespectful management, unsafe place to stay!

Nice Apartment. All the amenities that you need.
Quite nice, fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment with all the comforts of home. It takes a little work 1st getting into the place, and getting out of the place, but once you know the drill, it's fine. Also comes with one underground parking spot.

A home away from home
A home away from home is the feeling I've got from here. Would definitely suggest for any one looking for a homey instead of a hotel.
