The home is a short drive to many Virginia vineyards and antiquing venues, as well as Charlottesville (Monticello and the University of Virginia), Richmond (Virginia State Capitol Building, the Robert E. Lee Residence and the Museum of the Confederacy) and Fredericksburg, which all provide excellent day trips to points of historical interest. A 1.5 hr drive takes you to the George Washington Birthplace National Monument on the Northern Neck. Williamsburg, VA and the Colonial National Historic Park (Jamestown and Yorktown) are a 2 hr drive. A short 45 minute drive takes you to Kings Dominion Amusement Park and in 2 hours you can be at Busch Gardens.
The closest airports are Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA), both approximately 90 minutes, as well as Richmond and Charlottesville, which are both about 60 minutes away.
