Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
An old and characterful property on the high street of Dunster so everything is walkable. Car park entrance is narrow and not suitable for anything other than a small saloon. I recommend parking in the pay and display 1/4 mile away. Worth the £6.10
Everything i have marked above. John & Lisa were excellent hosts & catered for all our needs. You could not fault breakfast. Plenty of choices.
Highly recommend Dunster Castle Hotel.
We had a very enjoyable stay. Staff really lovely and made us very welcome. The main restaurant is closed most nights except Sunday and Monday but don’t let this stop you as they recommend lovely places around and all walkable
I’d try and reserve a table at one just to stop any dissapointment if you arrive late.
Only reason I put 4 instead of 5 was because the hot water tap wouldn’t go on but I had a lovely shower instead. It’s the onky thing I could fault.
Lovely rooms and it had all nice extras like a Sherry in the room and nice shampoos etc
Beautiful old and well decorated hotel. The Sunday roast dinner is the best Easy walking to Dunster Castle which is a must see. A highly recommended place to stay.
Lovely hotel, really liked the quirky decor in the breakfast / dining area. Really nice comfy bed and delicious breakfast. The owners lovely and friendly, id definitely stay there again ( and it had parking which was a bonus for Dunster)
Very welcoming and friendly staff. A beautiful room with high quality linen and towels. Very clean and exceptional service - lovely breakfast. Highly recommended
We had a 2 night stay to visit local National Trust properties. The owners are friendly and helpful and provide an excellent range of choices for breakfast. The only slight downside is that the rooms are on the small side. Although they don't serve other meals, they do allow you to bring in your own food and drink, or they will serve you drinks from the bar on demand. Most of the restaurants in the village are quite pricey, but the Foresters at the bottom of the village is better value and, although it's largely standard pub grub, it's very well cooked.
Excellent experience. The couple who run the hotel (sorry, I can't remember their name) were so welcoming and engaging, and really coukdnt do enough for you.
The room was compact, but absolutely perfect for me as a lone traveller. Very clean, tidy and comfortable.
Highly recommend.
The proprietors (John and Lisa) could not have been more obliging. Full details on hotel facilities and dining options - they only provide evening meals on Sunday/Monday
The quality of the food was excellent.
Added benefit of onsite private parking albeit with a narrow entrance - but ok with care.
