If you get a chance to stay here - I highly recommend it. The onsen is beautiful, but the staff and ambiance make it one of my favorite trips of all time.

"There are many different choices of onsens in the ryokan. The staff are excellent as well, their english proficiency is one of the best I’ve seen as well. "We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. "Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. ..."

Kurokawa Onsen town is fairly unremarkable compared to the other top 10 Onsen towns we been to in Japan. Yumerindo was a huge disappointment and the worst hotel of our 3 week trip to Japan.
