The area abounds in history, interesting places to visit include Muncaster Castle, Ravensglass and Eskdale Steam Railway and the village of Hawkshead (home of Beatrix Potter) all excellent day trips. Watersports, pony-trekking, fishing and many nature reserves are all easily accessible. Shops and pub 50 yards, restaurant 75 yards.
