Quiet place to stay
We had to go down for my brother's wedding. The location was within an easy 20-ish minute drive and was still far enough away to not be in town while still being easy to get to things. It was nice and we really enjoyed it.

Perfect amount of space
We had a great stay. The "rail car" is ample size and has all the amenities you need. Great spot in the mountains if you are looking for a nice place to crash after being outside all day. The communication with Edward was easy and he was very helpful.

Wonderful getaway
The place was amazing! Nice, quiet getaway for my husband, daughter, dog and myself. It wa quiet with the sound of nature. We enjoyed the patio watching the cows and deer during the day while at night listening to the sounds of the frogs. The beds were super comfortable and all the amenities of home away from home. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this paradise.

Out of the way Weekend
We wanted an out of the way, inexpensive alternative to camping and this was great! We will definitely stay again. A little spartan, but it fits the price range.

Fun place to stay
Enjoyed staying here. There were some slight inconveniences. Lost power the 2nd day to half the container. Outside could have been cleaned up better. But fun place to stay.

Great experience. Peaceful and serene. Close to town. If you are going to stay here, just make note there is no microwave. Not an issue at all but plan for it. We will definitely stay here again.

Sheets were Dirty
Let me just say I am 68 yrs old & have been using VRBO for about 30 yrs. Never had a bad experience till now & never given a negative review. First of all it needs to be in the listing that the toilet is a Composting Toilet. I understand the concept of that however it needs to be in the listing. When I got ready to go to bed the sheets had not been changed out from the previous occupant. I slept on the top sheet & wrapped up with a towel. If you want to watch TV there are not any comfortable chairs. It has 2 Straight up Ladder Back Chairs that are not comfortable to set in. Or you can sit on the floor or bed. I was booked for 2 nights but I was gone by 8:00 the following morning. Stayed there about 14 hrs. I did reach out to the owner on Saturday & his response was. I will speak to the cleaner to see what's going on & sorry for your inconvenience. That's it. I did reach out to VRBO & they were very kind. All they can do is send a email to the owner. So I have waited 3 days & since the owner has not responded back to me I am posting my review. Again I hate to give a negative review but in this case I had no choice.

Amazing and unique getaway
My husband and I stayed here while we were in the area for a wedding. The property is so unique and comfortable. There are surrounding areas to hike and also plenty of vineyards/wineries. It was nice being able to bring our dogs. We plan to go back.

Relaxation
We were in the area for a softball tournament and wanted to find somewhere relaxing to stay. This place was exactly that. We were able to spend time together just my husband and I after the games. It was clean and updated and very enjoyable. We will definitely stay again!

Tranquil escape!
This was such a great! It was everything it promises - beautifully set up, comfortable, and peaceful. It is off the main road down a driveway that is very loose gravel. We loved the outside stone fireplace and double hammock with view of the pond. The host was available and quick to respond.

Perfect home base location for Merlefest. Great big porch, which would have been wonderful...but we had lots of rain. Beds were very comfortable after being at music festival for 12 hrs. Host very accommodating.

Container Living
For the price it was very nice. We came when it was freezing which wasn’t the greatest for our pups or enjoying outside but that’s not the owners fault. Sturdy railing going up outside stairs would be nice for us old folks. Toilet was an experience. Would stay again!

Great Getaway
Overall really enjoyed my stay. It's secluded but I found the old hwy road to be busier than expected, but it's not an issue and the location is quite private. Though I understand it to be a little more rustic, it would have been nice to have the property a little cleaner. Shower was clean, toilet was not, it's a little dusty. Just a little more attention to overall cleanliness would have really enhanced my stay. The toilet is a bit of an adventure and I wish there were instructions left for the property on what to do and how things work in the property. I don't want to bother the property owner for little things, so just a book with some instructions and things to how stuff works would be awesome, but I figured it all out eventually. If your up for a little adventure the road the house is on, eventually turns into a small mountain road that takes you all the way to The Blue Ridge Pkwy, and it was a really fun drive, I didn't realize how close I was. Really enjoyed the fireplace on the deck for sitting and relaxing and the Wifi coverage is excellent on the property.

Unique, rustic, nifty property.
Some basic and important housekeeping areas were neglected prior to our arrival. The property could use some brief written directions on expectations for renters (what to do with towels, linens, trash) and how various things work (such as heating unit, how to light gas stovetop, etc). We were not accustomed to gas heat/appliances and suggest a carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector installation. Top bunk needs a small grab handle just at the top for steadiness in descending steps. If those items had been attended to, we could have better enjoyed our stay. The property itself was pretty cool.
